ALL DEPENDS ON YOUR FAITH
Matthew 14:31 Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. "You of little faith," he said, "why did you doubt?" (NIV)
What we get and how much we do in our Christian walk all depend on our faith not the power available or even the presence of the Lord. What is required for results in the Christian journey is not the presence of Jesus or our relationship with Him even though these two are very important factors, what is required is faith.
While Jesus was walking on water Peter asked Him that he might do the same, the Master gave him permission and he began to walk on water. But when he saw the wind he became afraid and began to sink. The Lord Jesus reached out His hand and held him. Peter was sinking right in the presence of Jesus.
Matthew 14:29-31 "Come," he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, "Lord, save me!" Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. "You of little faith," he said, "why did you doubt?"
The Lord said to Peter "You of little faith", in other words He meant "it all depends on your faith."
How long Peter walked on water depended on his faith not Jesus' presence. If the Lord Jesus were present in your room physically you would still require faith to get healed or have any other result.
Your relationship with the Lord is very important but how much result you get or what you achieve in life is dependent on your faith; your actions based on His Word. Your relationship with Him spurs your faith yet until you act that faith you won't have result.
Do you remember the Canaanite woman who came to Jesus and pleaded with Him to heal her demon-possessed daughter? At first the Lord didn't answer her but she kept pleading, demonstrating her faith. And then Jesus gave her attention and gave excuse to not heal her daughter, but the woman didn't back-down, instead she gave the Master reasons to heal her daughter.
Matthew 15:26-28 He replied, "It is not right to take the children’s bread and toss it to the dogs." "Yes it is, Lord," she said. "Even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their master’s table." Then Jesus said to her, "Woman, you have great faith! Your request is granted." And her daughter was healed at that moment.
It was her great faith that granted her her request not just the presence or power of the Master. Whatever your desire might be or whatever it is you are aiming to accomplish depends on your faith. Put your faith to work; act the Word and results will ensue.
CONFESSION
I am alive unto God in Christ, and my faith is alive, active and effective, producing results. As I act my faith speaking forth God's Word it produces for me what I say. My words are backed by the power of the Holy Spirit producing the exact results, in Jesus' Name. Amen!
