HUMBLE YOURSELF

Luke 18:14 "I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted." (NIV)

God delights in exalting people. All through the Bible we see how He exalted many. For instance, David. David was the last born of his parents. And his parents were not prominent in the land of Israel. David was not regarded even among his family, such that when Samuel the Prophet came to anoint one of Jese's sons to be king, David was not invited. No one thought he could be part of such a meeting. But God anointed him to be king, exalted him and made him great. What was David's role? Humility. David was humble, and God exalts the humble.

Watch your life; watch pride and arrogance. Most often people do not recognize they have become proud and arrogant. Be humble enough to listen to what your trusted allies think of you. When you find out that you are going out of order correct yourself.
James 4:6 But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: "God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble."

Humble yourself. Think about God Himself opposing a proud person. If a man or devil opposed you you would call on God to help you. But if you are opposed by God who will you call?
Humility is living within God's Word and within what He has done for you. Living outside His Word or outside what He has done for you is pride. Pride is when you take glory for the good that happens in your life and give the blames of the wrong that happens to others.

But God shows favor to the humble. Choose to be humble. Humble yourself!
1 Corinthians 4:7 For who makes you different from anyone else? What do you have that you did not receive? And if you did receive it, why do you boast as though you did not?

PRAYER

I humble myself before you Father. I yield myself to your Word; to live in, live by and live for. You Lord are the One who exalts me. I reject pride and arrogance, rather I submit myself under God's mighty hand and gracious Word to be blessed, honored and exalted, in Jesus' Name. Amen.
