WALK IN THE WAY OF LOVE

Ephesians 5:1-2 Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. (NIV)

In our previous article we learnt that love is the most excellent way to live life. Today's topic says "walk in the way of love." This calls for action. It's not enough to know or understand the way of love, unless we walk in it there is no blessing. 

Our theme scripture admonishes us to follow God's example and walk in the way of love. God walked in the way of love when He gave His Son for us. Christ walked in the way of love when He willingly gave Himself up as the sacrificial payment for our sins. Walking in the way of love calls for action. 

In following God's example of love you will have to act your love. The way of love is the way of giving. Every time love comes it comes with giving. Genuine love does not come alone; it's always accompanied with giving. If you want to know if you are walking in love examine your giving; even your giving to God. Your love for God is questionable if you do not give for the things of God.

One sure way we prove that we have passed from death to life is loving, and one sure way to love is giving. Love is the evidence of God's life in us.
1 John 3:14 We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love each other. Anyone who does not love remains in death.

Loving others is a proof that we ourselves have actually accepted God's love for us. We don't have to wait for others to love us first before loving them. God loved us even while we were still sinners.
1 John 4:10-11 This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.

If we are to appreciate God for loving us the only way to do so is by loving people. Since God so loved us we ought also to love others. We ought; it's a necessity and responsibility. Having received God's love we are mandated to love others. Let us follow God's example and walk in the way of love. 


CONFESSION

As a dearly loved child of God I follow my Papa's example of love. I love others irrespective of who they are and what they do. I have received God's life and nature of love, and I willingly give full expression to it to love others, bringing glory and praise to my Father, in Jesus' Name. Amen!

WISDOM KEEPS YOU FROM ADULTERY Nothing destroys a man or woman than sexual immorality, and more so adultery. But if you heed to wisdom it will keep you from this.
