ONLY ONE GOD

Deuteronomy 6:4 Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one. (NIV)

Man will always want a god. All through the history of man, even through Bible days man had always wanted a god. Deep the down in the inner recesses of man he knew there is God but doesn't know what He is like and how to reach Him. So man through history has represented the god he could conceive in the form of create images and other things. 

The God of heaven was known only to the nation of Israel but not to other nations, yet other nations sought a god to worship because they knew there must be a god. So they made idols in different forms as they deemed okay and worshipped it. 
1 Chronicles 16:26 For all the gods of the nations are idols, but the LORD made the heavens.

There is only one God my brothers and sisters, the God who made the heavens and the earth. He is our God and Father. 
Part of the law of Moses reads "Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one." --- Deuteronomy 6:4.
The law required that they recognized the God of heaven as the only God. 

Isaiah 45:6 so that from the rising of the sun to the place of its setting people may know there is none besides me. I am the LORD, and there is no other.
God doesn't entertain any talk about any god. Because there is none. He says I am the LORD, and there is no other. When the Israelites made an idol to worship in God's place His anger broke out against them and some of them died. That's how much God doesn't want any talk about any kind of god, He is the only true God.

Over here in the new testament it is abundantly clear to us that there is truly only one God. 
1 Corinthians 8:5-6 For even if there are so-called gods, whether in heaven or on earth (as indeed there are many "gods" and many "lords"), yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live.

This only one God became flesh and lived among us, He is Jesus. Jesus Christ is the only true God and eternal life. Jesus Christ is God. And we are in Him. 
1 John 5:20 We know also that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true. And we are in him who is true by being in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.

CONFESSION

I declare with my mouth that there is only one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom I live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom I live. He is the only true God and eternal life, and I am in Him. Amen Hallelujah!

WISDOM KEEPS YOU FROM ADULTERY Nothing destroys a man or woman than sexual immorality, and more so adultery. But if you heed to wisdom it will keep you from this. As we have a wayward woman so we have a wayward man. One who leaves their partner to go after another. There is no justifiable reason for it.
