DON'T BE COMPLACENT (BE VIGILANT)

Amos 6:1 Woe to you who are complacent in Zion, and to you who feel secure on Mount Samaria, you notable men of the foremost nation, to whom the people of Israel come! (NIV)

Those in Zion referred in this above scripture are the people of God, yet it says woe to them, because they are complacent. The Word of God teaches us to be vigilant like soldiers. Soldiers are always alert whether or not they are in a middle of war, whether or not they just got a victory. 
As a soldier of the Lord you are to be vigilant in time of peace or battle. Don't become complacent because you got victory. No! Always be alert. 

Apostle Peter admonished the Brethren in 1 Peter 5:8 "Be well balanced (temperate, sober of mind), be vigilant and cautious at all times; for that enemy of yours, the devil, roams around like a lion roaring [in fierce hunger], seeking someone to seize upon and devour."
 
Be well balanced (have a stable, unagitated mind), be vigilant and cautious at all times, that your enemy hangs around all the time seeking an opportunity against you. 
If you are not vigilant he might get an opportunity against you. That's why you must not become complacent, even when you win; in your celebration of your victory maintain focus -- be vigilant. 

Prayer is the most important aspect of being vigilant. When you pray you are awake, alert and focus. When you pray you distort the works and plans of the enemy. You keep watch when you pray. 
Again Apostle Peter says in 1 Peter 4:7 "The end of all things is near. Therefore be alert and of sober mind so that you may pray."
If you are not alert and of sober (conscious) mind you can't pray. Be alert, focus and conscious of the stakes at hand, and pray. Don't be complacent, a lot are at stake. Yes a lot, your family, business, spouse, children, the Gospel, the unsaved are at stake when you are complacent. 

PRAYER

Precious Father I refuse to be complacent but alert and of sober mind. I keep watch and pray, repelling the devil and his works and cohorts. I am not complacent about my faith, my ministry, family, job, business, the church or the salvation of the unsaved. As I pray in line with your perfect will I see definite results, in Jesus' Name. Amen!

Chapter two INSPIRATION Another thing you will find on your way to the Top is inspiration. Inspiration means an arousal or being stir up from within to take an action or embark on a course. If you don't have it getting to the Top is impossible. You will rely on inspiration to go higher and higher in life. If you are not inspired or stirred up from within to be about anything don't venture into it, it might fail. If you are not inspired to get to the Top in your endeavor, career or profession you may never get there.
