THE LAW IS NOT FOR THE CHRISTIAN
1 Timothy 1:9-10 We also know that the law is made not for the righteous but for lawbreakers and rebels, the ungodly and sinful, the unholy and irreligious, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers, for the sexually immoral, for those practicing homosexuality, for slave traders and liars and perjurers —and for whatever else is contrary to the sound doctrine (NIV)
The scripture (the Word of God) tells us who the law was made for, not for the righteous. The righteous doesn't need the law of Moses to control him. He is to express the nature of God in him.
The Christian is the righteous. Anyone who is born again is born of and into God's righteousness. No one can become righteous, we only receive righteousness. Righteousness is God's nature, you can't become it without Him given you. Righteousness is a gift of God. You can only express righteousness after you have received it. Hallelujah!
The Christian is declared righteous - Romans 5:1.
The Christian has received the gift of righteousness -- Romans 5:17
The Christian is set free from the law - Romans 8:2
He is now the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus - 2 Corinthians 5:21
The law of Moses was given to a wicked people not to the righteous. They were completely under the dominion of sin and helpless. They had the nature of sin and could only express that. They needed something different, something to control them away from sin. So, God gave them the law to control and direct them away from sin. But it did not meet their need.
The righteous doesn't need to be directed away from sin because he doesn't have that nature but the nature of righteousness. What the righteous need is to walk in his nature of righteousness. That's the natural law of the righteous. Don't be controlled by the law of Moses, let faith and love lead your life.
CONFESSION
The law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set me free from the law of sin and death. I walk freely in love and faith. I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. My life and course is the expression of God's righteousness. Hallelujah!
