BLESSINGS IN MEDITATION
Psalms 1:2-3 but whose delight is in the law of the LORD, and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither — whatever they do prospers. (NIV)
We shall examine the blessings described in the above scriptures for the person who meditates on God's Word. First, the Bible says whose delight is in the law of the Lord. Impactful meditation starts with delight. Only those who delight in the Word of God can truly meditate on it for impact and results. Cultivate your heart to find delight, pleasure and joy in the Word, it is the first step to a fruitful meditation.
To experience the blessings in meditation one has to do it intentionally with undivided attention. When you meditate on the Word as you should you become like a tree planted by streams of water. You know what that means! Streams of water is not the same as water reservoir. Water reservoir doesn't flow, and after a time it stinks. Trees planted there do not flourish. But streams of water flows continually. That means the tree planted here receives fresh water continually which makes it to flourish exceedingly.
That streams of water is the unction of the Holy Spirit which runs through your Spirit, soul and body as you meditate on the Word of God. That unction nourishes, refreshes and strengthens you to yield fruit in season. This is the reason you can be fruitful, effective and productive irrespective of what is happening during your season. When your season of fruitfulness comes you don't experience delay because you meditate on the Word.
When it says its leaf does not wither, it means your reception doesn't get weak or fades. Your reception of good things, prosperity, success and divine things. Your life is always receptive to the Spirit's leading and to spiritual things because you meditate on the Word. And when you receive you become even more productive and fruitful.
Another blessing in meditation is that whatever that person does prospers. Think about that for a moment! If you had a prescription for prospering in whatever you do won't you grab it? And there is, and it is meditation on the Word. The more you meditate on God's Word and speak it forth consistently the more you saturate your atmosphere and land to prosper in whatever you do.
CONFESSION
Surely I am like a tree planted by streams of water, I yield results in season, my leaf does not wither, I do not know when heat comes, my life is ever green and fertile, and whatever I do prospers, and I prosper in whatever I do. Hallelujah!
