SIT FOR IDEAS

2 Samuel 16:23 Now in those days the advice Ahithophel gave was like that of one who inquires of God. That was how both David and Absalom regarded all of Ahithophel’s advice. (NIV)

In Bible days there were men who sat for ideas. They would sit for hours meditating over and over again; they actually played with their mind over and over again, seeing things in mental pictures. They usually find quiet place, keep around them ink and scroll. Once ideas came to them they put it down.
Ahithophel was one of them. The Bible says of him in 2 Samuel 16:23 Now in those days the advice Ahithophel gave was like that of one who inquires of God. That was how both David and Absalom regarded all of Ahithophel’s advice.

He was not a Prophet or a priest. Yet the Bible says "the advice Ahithophel gave was like that of one who inquires of God." In other words hearing the counsel of Ahithophel was like hearing the counsel of God. 
He served David for years until Absalom David's son conspired against David. During that time Ahithophel moved to the camp of Absalom. 
David knew what Ahithophel's counsel could be, he prayed to God "LORD, turn Ahithophel’s counsel into foolishness." 2 Samuel 15:31 Now David had been told, "Ahithophel is among the conspirators with Absalom." So David prayed, "LORD, turn Ahithophel’s counsel into foolishness."

That's how great sitting for ideas could be. Learn to practice it. Take out time to sit for ideas. Maybe you have business you want to start or any other thing you want to do, instead of going here and there, or trying to get all the books on business, just sit for ideas, and you will be amazed at the great ideas that would come to your mind.

PRAYER

Dear Holy Spirit culture my spirit, mind and body to sit for ideas, inspire me to put the ideas to work and through your power the ideas shall produce tremendous results for me, in Jesus' Name. Amen.
