BE FAITHFUL

Matthew 25:20 The man who had received five bags of gold brought the other five. ’Master,’ he said, ’you entrusted me with five bags of gold. See, I have gained five more.’ (NIV)

Jesus told a parable of a master who entrusted to his servants bags of gold before traveling. To one he gave five, to another two and the third, he gave one. The first two servants put theirs to work and doubled it, while the other hid his. 

When their master returned the one who received the five bags of gold accounted "Master,’ he said, ’you entrusted me with five bags of gold. See, I have gained five more.’ The master's response was "Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’ -- Matthew 25:21

You would notice that the master did not talk about the five more bags of gold he gained but his faithfulness. He highlighted the servant's faithfulness. That was the main thing; the requirement - faithfulness. It is required that a servant be found faithful. The five bags of gold gained was only a result of his faithfulness. If he had not yielded gain but faithful he still would have been commended. However faithfulness always yield results.

Be faithful in whatever is committed to your trust, even in the things you commit to yourself. Be faithful even in little things as you do they will multiply. Hallelujah!

PRAYER

Father through the wisdom of your word and the help of your Spirit I exercise faithfulness in all that I do. I am trustworthy and committed to the Gospel entrusted to me. And in all things I am found faithful in Jesus' Name. Amen.

You have to learn how to move on from disappointment, failings, defeat, unfavorable circumstances and opposition. You will have to move on and move away from some oppositions and enemies. (NIV) It's only the fight that you fight till the end that you have a chance of winning. When boxers engaged in a competitive fight they don't win if they quit at the first or second round, and they don't lose if they were defeated in the first or second round. If you fell once or twice or even more you are not defeated if you are willing to continue the fight to the end. But this happened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God, who raises the dead. (NIV) The scriptures declare that our God raises the dead. When someone dies it seems it's all over, that nothing more can be done. It suggest that death is the final. But the Apostle Paul says in his letter in our theme scripture "we rely on God who raises the dead."  If the dead can rise then nothing shall be impossible.
