SALVATION IS BY WORDS
"And he shewed us how he had seen an angel in his house, which stood and said unto him, Send men to Joppa, and call for Simon, whose surname is Peter; Who shall tell thee words, whereby thou and all thy house shall be saved." (Acts 11:13–14)NIV
Beloved, notice what the angel told Cornelius: Peter would come and speak words—and through those words, salvation would come to him and his entire household.
This is a powerful revelation. God could not save Cornelius through a vision or a dream or even by Angel, He had to send a man with a message. Why? Because faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God (Romans 10:17). Salvation is transmitted through words.
Cornelius was already a devout man—he prayed continually and gave generously. Yet he still needed to hear the words of salvation. Religion, good works, and sincere devotion cannot replace the power of God's Word. When Peter opened his mouth and spoke the Gospel, the Holy Ghost fell upon all who heard (Acts 10:44). The words carried life!
As a born-again believer, you are already saved—but you walk by faith, and faith is sustained by the Word. You must feed on the scriptures daily. Speak them over your life. Declare them over your family. The same words that saved Cornelius's household can transform yours today.
Do not neglect the Word. Read it. Hear it. Confess it. For in the words of God, there is life, healing, deliverance, and salvation.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for Your Word that brings salvation. I receive it into my heart today. Let Your words bring life to me and my household. In Jesus' name, Amen.
