BREAKFAST WITH JESUS

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 31st AUGUST 2025 HIS NATURE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS 2 Corinthians 5:21 God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. (NIV) We have become the righteouness of God in Christ Jesus. God made us so and declared that we are His righteousness. Some still struggle with this truth that the Christian is the righteouness of God. They look at all the wrongs they did and concluded (though contrary to what God says) that they are unrighteous.  Righteousness has nothing to do with right and wrong, it is the nature of God. Contrary to sin which is the nature of the devil; it is natural for him to do wrong. That's his nature; that's him.  God doesn't do right to be righteous, rather doing right is a natural expression of Himself. Righteousness is who He is. In Christ Jesus He has given us that nature of righteousness. He says we are His righteousness in Christ Jesus; that is a sovereign...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 30th AUGUST 2025 A DRASTIC CHANGE -- RUTH Ruth 4:13 So Boaz took Ruth and she became his wife. When he made love to her, the LORD enabled her to conceive, and she gave birth to a son. (NIV) Ruth married Mahlon the son of Naomi. He died ten years after and they had no child. Naomi her mother-in-law decided to return to her hometown Judah after she lost her husband and two sons. She persuaded Ruth and her other daughter-law to go back to their respective families. But Ruth insisted she will go with her wherever she went. It was a tough time for Ruth, she could have gone back to her family with the hope to remarry. But she choose rather to go with her poor mother-in-law. A change was coming to her even though she didn't anticipate it, God was working it. Ruth 1:16 But Ruth replied, "Don’t urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and yo...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 29th AUGUST 2025 A DRASTIC CHANGE -- THE WALL OF JERUSALEM Nehemiah 1:3-4 They said to me, "Those who survived the exile and are back in the province are in great trouble and disgrace. The wall of Jerusalem is broken down, and its gates have been burned with fire." When I heard these things, I sat down and wept. For some days I mourned and fasted and prayed before the God of heaven. (NIV) In our previous article (yesterday's) we learnt about the drastic change that occurred in the life of Joseph. Today we want to look at the drastic change that happened with the wall of Jerusalem. Jerusalem had been destroyed and its wall and gates brought down, and its people taken into exile except a few.  The wall of Jerusalem laid in ruins until God laid it the heart of Nehemiah and stirred him up and led him to do something about it. Nehemiah was one of the exiles and was in service to the king as his cupbearer. He pleaded with t...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 28th AUGUST 2025 A DRASTIC CHANGE -- JOSEPH Genesis 40:14-15 But when all goes well with you, remember me and show me kindness; mention me to Pharaoh and get me out of this prison. I was forcibly carried off from the land of the Hebrews, and even here I have done nothing to deserve being put in a dungeon." (NIV) A man's life and story could change just in a moment. You probably have read about Joseph in the Bible, how his own brothers sold him into slavery in Egypt. When he got to Egypt, things were looking good for him even as a slave to Potiphar. One day Potiphar's wife spoilt things for Joseph because he refused her advances to go to bed with her. She laid rape accusation against Joseph which led him to prison. He was imprisoned indefinitely without any trial or chance of defense.  In prison, the Bible says the Lord was with Joseph. And that is because Joseph was also with God. One day the king's officials who w...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 27th AUGUST 2025 TRUE PLEASURE John 4:32-34 But he said to them, "I have food to eat that you know nothing about." Then his disciples said to each other, "Could someone have brought him food?" "My food," said Jesus, "is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work. (NIV) The Lord said "My food is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work." And that's actually what He lived for. Food in this context is pleasure. His pleasure and fulfillment was in doing the Father's will and completing the work He gave Him.  We look for pleasure and satisfaction in our endeavors. The outside world also seek pleasure and fulfilment to no avail. They undertake many ventures in search for pleasure and fulfillment. They commit their time and resources to it yet true pleasure elude them.  If the Master says my food, pleasure and fulfillment is to do the will of the Father, we...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 26th AUGUST 2025 AS IS THE HEAVENLY MAN 1 Corinthians 15:48 As was the earthly man, so are those who are of the earth; and as is the heavenly man, so also are those who are of heaven. (NIV) When the Bible says earthly man it means the first creation, which is the first Adam. And it also means the man from the earth. When it says the heavenly man, it refers to Jesus, the second and last Adam, the man from heaven. You can see that there is distinction between the two. One from the earth, the other from heaven. And obviously their features and functions differs. When you were born into this world by your parents you were born in the order of the first Adam, and your origin was earthly. But having been born again you are born after the second and last Adam, Jesus Christ. And you are heavenly as He is heavenly. This means your origin and citizenship is in heaven. The Bible declares in 1 Corinthians 15:48 "...and as is the heavenly ...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 25th AUGUST 2025 HE HAS BLESSED US Ephesians 1:3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. (NIV) The question is never whether God has blessed us, rather how we would discover the blessings and live in them. Having given us eternal life He has qualified us for every good thing in heaven and on earth. Our opening theme scripture says He has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. Every spiritual blessing in Christ means every good thing there is.  Though every Christian is blessed in regards to this truth yet not every Christian discover this blessings because they are not obvious to the senses. Even though physical or earthly blessings are included in this spiritual blessing in Christ yet unless one discovers the spiritual and understand them he cannot experience the physical or earthly blessings...
