DIVINE WORD MINISTRIES

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS Daily devotional Pastor Stanley 1st OCTOBER 2026   THE END OF ALL THINGS IS NEAR 2 Peter 3:10-12 (NIV) "But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything done in it will be laid bare. Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming. That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat."   Peter writes to believers, not to unbelievers. Notice this carefully — the call to holy and godly living is not given to earn salvation, but because salvation is certain and the world around you is temporary. This is why the doctrine of the New Creation matters so deeply. Peter asks, "What kind of person ought you to be?" His logic is startling: what you believe about the...

JUST A TIP FROM CHAPTER ONE A Wife Does Not Come to a Man; A Man Goes for a Wife There is a popular belief in many Christian circles—subtle, unspoken, but deeply influential—that if a man simply waits long enough, prays hard enough, and stays faithful enough, God will one day drop a wife into his lap. This belief sounds spiritual. It sounds like trust. It sounds like faith. But in reality, it is often nothing more than sanctified passivity. Let me say it plainly: a wife does not come to a man. A man goes for a wife. Throughout Scripture, we see this pattern again and again. When Abraham wanted a wife for his son Isaac, did he wait for a woman to appear at his tent? No. He sent his servant on a deliberate journey to find her (Genesis 24). When Jacob needed a wife, did he sit in his father's house waiting for a sign? No. He arose, traveled to a distant land, and labored for the woman he desired (Genesis 29). When Boaz took notice of Ruth, did he wait for her to propose to him? No. H...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS Daily devotional Pastor Stanley 30th SEPTEMBER 2026 WE HAVE ABRAHAM'S BLESSING Galatians 3:14,29 He redeemed us in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit. If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise. (NIV) Beloved, there is a profound truth that many Christians live beneath: you are a rightful heir of Abraham's blessing. When God called Abraham, He didn't just bless a man—He established a covenant that would flow through generations and eventually reach you. Galatians 3:14 declares that Christ redeemed us so that "the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus."   Think about this: Every promise God made to Abraham—prosperity, protection, fruitfulness, divine favor, and being a father of many nations—is now accessible to you through faith in Christ. Verse 29 m...

INTRODUCTION There is a question that every young man eventually faces, whether he voices it aloud or carries it silently in his heart: How do I find the woman I am meant to marry? Some men answer that question by waiting. They sit still, hoping that one day a wife will somehow appear — as if God were in the business of dropping fully formed marriages into the laps of passive men. Others answer it by rushing. They chase every pretty face, give their hearts away carelessly, and end up wounded and confused. And still others answer it by ignoring it altogether, burying themselves in work, in hobbies, or in fear, until the years quietly slip away. But Scripture gives a very different answer. Proverbs 18:22 declares, "He who finds a wife finds what is good and receives favor from the LORD." Notice the word finds. It is an active word. It speaks of searching, of moving, of taking responsibility. A man does not stumble into a godly marriage by accident. He does not receive a wife ...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS Daily devotional Pastor Stanley 29th SEPTEMBER 2026   ETERNITY IN GOD   Acts 17:28 "For in him we live and move and have our being." As some of your own poets have said, "We are his offspring." (NIV)   On the Areopagus in Athens, Paul stood before the most intellectual minds of the ancient world and pointed them to a God they had not yet truly known. He did not argue from arguments first; he anchored them in reality: in him we live and move and have our being. Not merely exist, not merely function — live, move, have our being. Your heartbeat, your breath, your very continuity from moment to moment is sustained by the power of the Almighty. You are not a machine running on its own; you are sustained by the Everlasting God.   And then he went further: We are his offspring. Not accidental, not abandoned, not a cosmic experiment. You are of his kindred. In Christ, you are not just sustained by God — you are related to God. Your eternal destiny is no...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS Daily devotional Pastor Stanley 28th SEPTEMBER 2026 SEATED WITH CHRIST IN HEAVEN Ephesians 2:6 "And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus." (NIV) Do not miss the tenses here. Paul does not say God will raise you up or will seat you with Christ one day. He says God raised us up and seated us — already accomplished, already secured. The same power that burst the grave on the third day burst you out of the grave of the old man, and the same hand that installed Christ at the right hand of God installed you with Him in the heavenly realms. This is the New Creation's true address. You are not a spiritual beggar standing at the door of heaven asking to be taken in; you are seated — in authority, in favor, in unshakable position. Your territory, your destiny, your victory, your success and dominion was already settled at the cross and confirmed at the resurrection. Living from this seat changes everything. ...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS Daily devotional Pastor Stanley 27th SEPTEMBER 2026 CHRIST IS YOUR LIFE Colossians 3:3-4 "For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory." (NIV) Notice the order of these verses. You died. Your life was buried with Christ. But the grave did not keep you — your new life was raised with Him and is now hidden with Christ in God. That hiddenness is not obscurity; it is protection. While the world measures you by works, circumstances, and man's opinions, your true self is concealed in the safest place in all existence: the heart of God Himself. And then Paul delivers the most staggering truth in all Scripture: Christ is your life. Not a gift you carry, not a virtue you maintain, not a relationship you manage — He is the very life you live. You do not strive to make Him shine in you; His appearing will be your appearing. The same glory that surrounds the Son...
