THE CHURCH'S AUTHORITY

Isaiah 9:6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. (NIV)

The above scripture refers to Christ. It states that the government will be upon His shoulders. The government means authority. The authority will be upon His shoulders. That's responsibility.
The same statement is made in Isaiah 22:22 I will place on his shoulder the key to the house of David; what he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open.
It means authority to open and shut. It means to be in charge and dictate the pace. 

The authority on His shoulders. He is the Head and we are His body -- Colossians 1:18. His shoulder is part of His body. The authority is with the Church. A lot of times we wait on God to do the things He expects us to do. He has given us the authority -- Mathew 28:18-20. We have the authority in His name. And He expects us to use it. 

We lose on earth and it's loosed in heaven. We bind on earth and it's bound in heaven. We open on earth and it's opened in heaven. We shut on earth and it's shut in heaven. It all begins on earth with the church.

It's important to the Kingdom that we function in Christ's authority. The authority is laid upon our shoulders and it's our responsibility to exercise it. When you see the devil running rampage anywhere around you, exercise your authority; bind him.

PRAYER

Lord Jesus thank you for the authority you have given me in your name. I exercise authority over the devils and their activities, paralyzing their works in the earth bringing glory and honour to your name. Amen.

(NIV) The Apostle Paul writing to the Church in Philippi, said they should rejoice in the Lord always. He didn't say they should rejoice in themselves but in the Lord. That calls for spiritual insight.  It takes spiritual insight to see what we got in the Lord and rejoice. When you are ask to rejoice over something it means that it holds significance and value. Chapter 2 Episode 2 LOVE FULFILS THE LAW Romans 13:8-10 Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law.
