FULLY PAID FOR

John 19:30 When he had received the drink, Jesus said, "It is finished." With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit. (NIV)

The statement "it is finished" in the above verse was translated from the Greek word "tetelestai." In the greek it is used in a legal way between lender and borrower. It means the debt is paid in full. When a borrower fully paid back his loan the lender would issued a receipt with the word "tetelestai" and then strike over the receipt with 'X'. It was a legal declaration that the debt was paid in full.

Thus when Jesus used the word "tetelestai" He meant our debt of sin was fully paid for with His death. He paid in full.

It is therefore our responsibility not to allow the effects of sin dominate us any more because we are no longer indebted to sin. By His death we were legally freed. It is our responsibility to walk in freedom. We are freed to be holy. We are freed to walk in His righteousness. He procured our freedom with His blood. Our sin was fully paid for.

Don't allow sickness in your body. Sickness is a result of sin but sin has been fully paid for. Sickness is an oppression from the devil. Don't yield to anything that contradicts what Jesus did for you. He gave His life to pay the debt we owed and could not pay. Now He expects us to enjoy the benefits and not to be burdened again by the yoke of sin.

PRAYER

Thank You Father for giving up your Son to die to set me free from sin. Thank You for by His death my debt is paid in full. I live freely by your Grace enjoying your benefits, in Jesus' Name. Amen.
