IN THE MIDST OF TRIALS
James 1:2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, (NIV)
Did you noticed that Apostle James didn't say "TRIAL of many kinds", but "TRIALS of many kinds." It is because trials are a chain of events. It all happens together. It's a season where series of unpleasant circumstances surrounds a Christian.
The Lord Jesus told us in John 16:33, "...In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."
Troubles, persecutions and trials are inevitable but victory is assured over them. Instead of thinking that trials shouldn't come think what to do when it does come. Because it will come.
James told us to consider trials as pure joy. And went on to give us the reasons. James 1:3-4 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
Maturity and completeness comes after trials. Then you are stable, not lacking anything.
Another reason to be joyful in the midst of trials is what the Bible says joy does for us. Isaiah 12:3 With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation.
The wells of salvation is within your spirit. Every good you could ever imagine is inherent in your spirit, and through joy of the Spirit you can draw them out. The answers to challenges and trials are in your spirit. If you are not joyful in the midst of trials you won't be able to draw the answer you require to come out of the trials. Joy is an ability. It is a requirement to come of trouble, trials and persecutions. That's why James says consider joy in the face of trials. Instead of considering the weight of your troubles consider joy, express joy and maintain joy. Glory to God!
CONFESSION
In the midst of trials and troubles I consider and choose joy. The Lord Jesus has overcome the world and its troubles for me and I live in His victory. The joy of the Lord is my strength. With joy I draw answers, blessings, grace and victory from my wells of salvation within, coming out of every trouble and trial victoriously, in Jesus' Name. Amen.
