FLOOD WOULD COME

Luke 6:47-48 As for everyone who comes to me and hears my words and puts them into practice, I will show you what they are like. They are like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built. (NIV)

The Lord Jesus said "when a flood came" not "if a flood came." Flood would come against both those who practice God's Word and those who do not. But the difference is what happens to them. Trouble comes to everyone but the impact its leaves behind is what matters. 

The Lord's statement in Luke 6:47-48 clearly states that those who received His word and practice it would still have trouble. The flood of life would still come against them. But the result is that they won't be shaken.

Practising or doing the Word of God is what makes the difference. When we do His Word we actually lay our foundation on the Rock, Christ. And that's what makes the ultimate difference. It's not about the intensity of the flood or the gravity of the torrent but the foundation on which your life is built. The Lord said if you build your life on His Word you won't be shaken when flood comes. 

Thinking that the flood of life would never come to you is self deception. It is a wrong mindset, it's not word-based. Your focus should be on anchoring your life on the Word and not assuming that storm won't come to you. Because it will. 

Lay the foundation of your life firmly on the Rock and build your life carefully on the Word. This is the only guarantee of victory over the flood and torrents of life.

CONFESSION

Through my doing of the Word I lay the foundation of my life on the Rock, Christ, and build my life obediently on His Word, steadfast and immovable. Though the flood and torrents of life comes I will remain standing strong, giving glory to God! Amen.
