AS LONG AS YOU ACT ON THE WORD

Matthew 14:29-30 "Come," he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, "Lord, save me!" (NIV)

Challenges are constant in life as wind is constant over a sea, but whether or not one sink in the challenges of life depends on his response to them. One's attitude and response in time of challenges makes the difference.

Peter walked on water by acting on Jesus' word "come." As long as he acted on that word he walked on water but the moment he began to observe the wind he began to sink. His attitude and response to the wind was fear. 

Life is to be lived on God's Word. Though there are winds or challenges of life as long as we act on the Word we would not sink. So many have sunk amidst the wind of life. Many great destinies have been swallowed up by life's challenges. The reason is failure to act on the Word consistently. 

It wasn't Peter who orchestrated the miracle of walking on water. He only acted on the Master's word and walked on water, the power for the miracle was in the Word. If only we would act on the Word the result is guaranteed. The power to perform the Word is in the Word, all we need is to act on the Word consistently. 

Peter's action on the Word wasn't consistent. He started out well but when the wind came he lost sight of the Word and became afraid. Don't lose sight of the Word the Lord has given you. Don't give in to the pressure and challenges of life. And never use challenges to interpret the Word but the Word to interpret the challenges of life.

PRAYER

Dear Lord Jesus, I am grateful for your infallible dependable Word. Your Word which I have received is alive, active and effective producing for me what it talks about. I do not sway from it, but hold on to it, fixing my gaze on it and enjoying the results there of. Amen.

Chapter 2 Episode 2 LOVE FULFILS THE LAW Romans 13:8-10 Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law.
