HE RAISES THE POOR, HE LIFTS THE NEEDY


Psalms 113:7-8 He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap; he seats them with princes, with the princes of his people. (NIV(


There are some people who think that poverty is from God and that it glorifies Him. But this above scripture says the opposite. God raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap. 


Poverty is anti-God. It doesn't reflect the truth and character of God. Riches and wealth are synonymous with God. It is God who bestows riches and wealth. 


Why does God raises the poor from the dust and the needy from the ash heap? First, Poverty is an oppression. God doesn't want His children oppressed. Secondly, a poor person cannot fulfil God's purpose to be a blessing to others, nor can he fulfill his part in the propagation of the Gospel. Thirdly, poverty is a reproach, and it makes a person to have less regard for his own life. 


How do you define poverty? It is a state where a person cannot do what he should or want and do not believe he can change that state. It is a need when one believe he can change his state. It is poverty when one doesn't believe that he can change the state of his life.


Poverty paralyzes. God desire riches for His children. He takes the responsibility to raise the poor from the dust and the needy from the ash heap, but it is ones own responsibility to accept God's help and live in it. God's help to man is His Word of salvation; the good news of Jesus. 


It is through understanding, accepting and walking in the light of the Gospel of Christ that He raises the poor from dust and the needy from the ash heap. 


Acts 20:32 "Now I commit you to God and to the word of his grace, which can build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified.


PRAYER


Father I am grateful that through the Gospel of Jesus you have raised me from the dust and lifted me from the ash heap. I pray for many around the world that through the light of the Gospel they might be raised from the dust and the needy from the ash heap to sit with your princes, in Jesus' Name. Amen.

Chapter 2 Episode 2 LOVE FULFILS THE LAW Romans 13:8-10 Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law.
