SHINE AMONG THEM

Philippians 2:14-15 Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, "children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation." Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky (NIV)

If you find yourself in a society that is full of evil and wickedness instead of complaining or grumbling against them shine among them. That's what the Bible says to do.

The Bible recognizes that you live in a generation that is "warped and crooked." That is, it is full of moral decadence, spiritual deficiency and Godlessness. Yet it says "shine among them" like stars in the sky.
He didn't say hide from them or kill them. But shine. 
A dark, crooked and warped society is an opportunity for light. And you are that light. 

You can do everything without grumbling, and be blameless and pure child of God without fault in this ungodly generation. 
The first thing is to recognize that you are the light, the answer. What you have in the world is darkness. Grumbling and complaining against darkness will not change anything or make anything better; you can't make darkness better. The only answer to darkness is light. Instead of complaining put on your light.

Let your light so shine among them as stars in the sky, in this way they will see the glory of God in your life and be attracted and changed. 

CONFESSION

Though I am in the world I am certainly not of it. I refuse to grumble about darkness but put on my light. I shine in this ungodly, warped and crooked generation as light in the sky, giving direction, illumination and vision to all, in Jesus' Name. Amen.

(NIV) The Apostle Paul writing to the Church in Philippi, said they should rejoice in the Lord always. He didn't say they should rejoice in themselves but in the Lord. That calls for spiritual insight.  It takes spiritual insight to see what we got in the Lord and rejoice. When you are ask to rejoice over something it means that it holds significance and value. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. (NIV) We should not have offense we cannot forgive. But at times we find ourselves in a situation where forgiveness seems difficult. If we apply our emotions and how hurt we are, it will be difficult to forgive. But how much of them we enjoy depends on our knowledge of God and Jesus our Lord. Knowledge here refers to intimate knowledge which comes through relationship.
