THE GLORY OF CHRIST
2 Corinthians 4:4 The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. (NIV)
The god of this age (satan) doesn't mean the god of everyone or the one in charge of this age, rather it means the god of the darkness of this age. That's very important to note. Satan is not the god of this world or the one in charge of things. He is the god of those in his darkness; he is in charge of those in darkness. That's why we preach the Gospel to them to bring them out of that darkness.
In our theme verse the Bible says "...the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ."
What is the light of the Gospel? What is the glory of Christ? The light of the Gospel is the truth of the Gospel. And that truth says Christ took our life with its sins and consequences, and gave us His life with its righteousness and blessings. This truth reveals the glory of Christ in our lives.
The glory of Christ is the beauty, nature and all the manifestation of His glorious life. The truth of the Gospel reveals the glory of Christ for us to walk in. If you haven't been experiencing much of the glory of Christ delve into the truth of the Gospel more and it will reveal the glory of Christ more in your life.
The truth of the Gospel is the light of the Gospel and God has made this light to shine our hearts.
2 Corinthians 4:6 For God, who said, "Let light shine out of darkness," made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ.
His light shines in our hearts to give us the light to know the glory of God displayed in the face of Christ, that is, in the unveiling of Christ. The more Christ is unveiled in your heart the more His glory is unveiled in your life.
It's important we preach the Gospel to the unbelievers so that when they hear and believe it, they would see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
CONFESSION
God has made His light to shine in my heart and it gives me the light of the knowledge of God's glory by the unveiling of Christ in my heart. Through the revelation of the truth of the Gospel Christ and His glory is displayed in and through me, now and always to the glory of God the Father. Amen.
