THEY ARE ALL USEFUL

2 Timothy 2:20 In a large house there are articles not only of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay; some are for special purposes and some for common use. (NIV)

The scripture above just states that everything and everyone doesn't serve the same purpose. Some serve greater purpose than others but they are all very useful in their own capacity. At times we tend to despise the seemingly less important things not realizing that their usefulness cannot be omitted. 

In the church we all do not have the same responsibility, and some people do not even have responsibility at all yet we are all very useful. Those who preach are not more important than those who sing, nor is either more important than those who listen. They are all equally useful in their own capacity and purpose. Our individual roles may fulfill distinctive purposes but none is less important to the other. 
1 Corinthians 12:20-22 As it is, there are many parts, but one body. The eye cannot say to the hand, "I don’t need you!" And the head cannot say to the feet, "I don’t need you!" On the contrary, those parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable,

Every part or member of the body of Christ (even in the local church) is needed and indispensable. We shouldn't behave as if we don't need everyone, no! Everyone is needed, even those who have not taken up any responsibility or role in the local church. Their presence is a blessing and it matters. 

The most important aspect is how we handle what is in our care. We can be promoted and given greater responsibility and resources if we do well in what we already have at hand. 
2 Timothy 2:21 Those who cleanse themselves from the latter will be instruments for special purposes, made holy, useful to the Master and prepared to do any good work.

You are useful, and everyone is. And everyone can be more useful if we do what is expected consistently. So don't despise anyone nor count them out. They are useful and could be more useful. 

PRAYER

Father I refuse to despise anyone or their capacity at a time. I believe the best of everyone. I pray for every member of the body of Christ, that we become more useful, productive and effective in the business of the Kingdom, giving the right priority to things that has to be done, being useful to the Master, prepared to do any good work, in Jesus' Name. Amen.
