NO EFFORT IS ENOUGH

Psalms 127:1 Unless the LORD builds the house, the builders labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain. (NIV)

Those of us who rely on and function by grace can testify like Apostle Paul, "But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them —yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me." 1 Corinthians 15:10. 
We work hard yet not us, but the grace of God that is in us. No effort is enough for true success in life. Grace grace effort, favour favour labour. In other words grace magnify effort, favour magnify labour. 

Our theme scripture Psalms 127:1 declares "Unless the LORD builds the house, the builders labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain."
There are people in this world who rely solely on their efforts, and after a long time they still have no true success to show for it. Success with God can only happen through the help of God. Unless the Lord builds your life you build in vain. Unless He watches over your destiny your efforts will amount to nothing. No effort is enough. No!

He guides our feet into success, by our own strength we cannot prevail.
1 Samuel 2:9 He will guard the feet of his faithful servants, but the wicked will be silenced in the place of darkness. "It is not by strength that one prevails;
One's own strength cannot give him victory in the conflict of life. God's grace is an indispensable necessity for anyone who wants to truly succeed in life. 

The world has history of men who put in so much efforts to be this or that, some achieved their aim but it never lasted. The worldly people may achieve their aims with worldly means, but the means of a Christian is grace and mercy. 
Romans 9:16 It does not, therefore, depend on human desire or effort, but on God’s mercy.

Instead of depending so much on your efforts, qualifications and experience depend on His grace and mercy. No effort is enough to do the work of grace or replace the place of grace. Don't allow your expertise, qualifications, experience and efforts take the place of grace, mercy and favour in your life. 

CONFESSION

Father I acknowledge with my mouth that unless you build my life I build in vain, unless you watch over my destiny I watch in vain. My success is not dependent solely on my efforts but on your grace, mercy and favour. I am what I am by your grace, and I take advantage of it, for your grace is mightily at work in me. Amen!

THE BEGINNING OF WISDOM Wisdom will begin to work in and through you and produce results when you fear the Lord. Yes wisdom begin with the fear of the Lord. If you find a person who is not wise in the ways of God you find a person who has no fear of the Lord. Psalms 14:1 The fool says in his heart, "There is no God." BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 23rd DECEMBER 2023 REJOICE IN THE LORD ALWAYS Philippians 4:4 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! (NIV) The Apostle Paul writing to the Church in Philippi, said they should rejoice in the Lord always. He didn't say they should rejoice in themselves but in the Lord. That calls for spiritual insight.  It takes spiritual insight to see what we got in the Lord and rejoice. When you are ask to rejoice over something it means that it holds significance and value. No nobody would ask you to rejoice over something that's not to your advantage. We have everything to our advantage in Christ, and it is our responsibility to recognize them and rejoice.  Looking at your physical environment and, maybe the circumstances of your life you might have reasons to feel bad and dejected. WISDOM DO GOOD We already know that wisdom is known for its deeds. Wisdom is no wisdom if it is not practiced. True wisdom is practicable.  One of the marks of wisdom is good deeds. A wise man does good. It takes loyalty to wisdom (God's Word) to do good. God's Word teaches us to do good. But a foolish man withhold good.  DO NOT WITHHOLD GOOD Proverbs 3:27 Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to act. Good is an element of righteousness. THE WONDERS OF WISDOM chapter 4 episode 1

TURN YOUR EARS TO WISDOM Everyone listens to a voice or voices. Voices comes to one's mind through three main sources. The flesh, satan and God.  The flesh would speak to you based on impulses, emotions and sight. Satan deceitfully speak to people through their flesh, desire and even perversely quoting the Bible. Then God speaks to us through His Word.  None of these voices forces you to listen to or obey it. The flesh cannot force you to listen and obey its voice, satan cannot, and God would not. Listening to any voice that comes to you is a choice. Many voices may come to your ears but you would choose which to turn your ears to you.  You would hear voice of fear, doubt, failing, uncertainty, faith, assurance, victory, riches but deliberately turn your ears to what you want to hear.
