IT HAS TO COST YOU

2 Samuel 24:24 But the king replied to Araunah, "No, I insist on paying you for it. I will not sacrifice to the LORD my God burnt offerings that cost me nothing." So David bought the threshing floor and the oxen and paid fifty shekels of silver for them. (NIV)

Sincere giving costs. A giving that would meet need is most likely to cost you. Not everyone is excited about giving for the things of the Kingdom or to help another man because sincere giving cost. If you give sincerely according to your ability it would cost you, and it has to. A giving that would make a difference is likely to cost you. 

Some people are only comfortable to give what cost them nothing. They give when it doesn't have any effect on them. When you give sincerely and tangibly it leaves a space for God to fill. King David knew this too well. When he wanted to make a sacrifice to God the man on whose land he would make the sacrifice offered to give him everything required for the sacrifice for free. But David objected against it, he insisted on paying the full amount for it. 
2 Samuel 24:22-24 Araunah said to David, "Let my lord the king take whatever he wishes and offer it up. Here are oxen for the burnt offering, and here are threshing sledges and ox yokes for the wood. Your Majesty, Araunah gives all this to the king." Araunah also said to him, "May the LORD your God accept you." But the king replied to Araunah, "No, I insist on paying you for it. I will not sacrifice to the LORD my God burnt offerings that cost me nothing." So David bought the threshing floor and the oxen and paid fifty shekels of silver for them.

Someone else could have said "oh yes, let me have them for free, after all I am the king, I am not supposed to pay for everything." But not King David, he said "I will not sacrifice to the LORD my God burnt offerings that cost me nothing."
Have this same attitude as David. Don't sacrifice or give to God offerings and seeds that cost you nothing. If it cost nothing it may bring forth nothing. 

When you are privileged to help people, do it wholeheartedly, gladly, honourably and in good measure. Don't give to people what has no measure; if you would give give good substance. Don't give to people based on their worth and personality but based on your worth and personality. Give to represent yourself; give well. 

Good giving cost; it has to cost you. Every giving is not giving. Some people give trash. Some others give to mock their recipients. Such givings are not giving and has no reward. When you give to God or man give well; give reasonably and quantitatively. 

CONFESSION

Precious Lord, I increase my giving standard and attitude. My givings in the Kingdom shall speak volume of the Christ-state of my heart. I give with love, for value and what cost me. My givings represents me well. As I give for the furtherance of the Gospel I receive a multiplied harvest, in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

Chapter two INSPIRATION Another thing you will find on your way to the Top is inspiration. Inspiration means an arousal or being stir up from within to take an action or embark on a course. If you don't have it getting to the Top is impossible. You will rely on inspiration to go higher and higher in life. If you are not inspired or stirred up from within to be about anything don't venture into it, it might fail. If you are not inspired to get to the Top in your endeavor, career or profession you may never get there.
