HOPE HAS BASIS
Proverbs 23:18 There is surely a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off. (NIV)
Some times people are hopeful but not based on anything. They hope for good and favourable outcome; they expect things to turn out for their good but they have no basis for such hope. Having a positive expectation is good but every hope should have basis. Why do you think what you hope for will come true? What is the foundation of your hope?
The above scripture says 'your hope will not be cut off.' The only hope that cannot be cut off is one that is founded on the word of God. The word of God gives you hope. You may find yourself in a precarious situation but the word gives hope and it is a hope that cannot be cut off.
Just because one has good expectation doesn't mean it will come true. It requires a solid foundation. Some become frustrated because their good hope never came through, they hoped and waited for so long but it didn't happen. How long you waited does not guarantee that your expectation would come true, only the word-foundation guarantees.
The foundation of hope is faith. Your faith in God's word; what He says is the substance, basis and foundation of your hope. I am hopeful and confident that these things will turn out for my good because God says so.
Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.(KJV)
Every now and then you present your evidence, basis and foundation (the Word) to validate your expectation.
CONFESSION
The Word of God is the basis and foundation of my hope. I am confident in the word and the hope it brings to me, and my hope shall not be cut off, in Jesus' Name. Amen.
