BORN FOR A TIME AS THIS

Esther 4:14 For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?" (NIV)

Esther became queen at a time when the Jews were in exile in the Citadel of Susa. She was an orphan brought up by Modecai. After she became queen of the Citadel of Susa, Haman the King's highest official plotted the annihilation of all the Jews in all the provinces under Citadel of Susa because of his hatred for Modecai and all Jews. 

When this plot became known to Modecai he brought the news to Esther and implored her to do something to stop it. And one striking statement he made was "... And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?"
Esther might have been perplexed and wonder why such a calamity would happen at a time she became queen and should be enjoying her life. But she was born for such a time as that. 

A lot of times we complain about the troubles, hardships, perplexity and wickedness in our world but we were born for such a time as this. You came for this time. This is your time. You won't come to live in this world for a second time. Abraham had his time, so did Isaac and Jacob, Isaiah, Elijah, David and even Jesus, and all others before us. The problems in their day was theirs to contend. The problems in your day are yours to contend. 

Complaining how our world has turned out to be won't change anything, wishing for a better time won't change anything either. The answer is to recognize that you were born for such a time as this and live up to it. You were born for the circumstances of today; born for the troubles of today.

PRAYER

Precious Father I recognize that you brought me into this world for such a time as this for a reason. Through the instruction, training and wisdom I receive from the Word I face the troubles and difficulties of my day and win. I am raised by the Holy Spirit to win, therefore I win in my day, in Jesus' Name. Amen.
