BREAKFAST WITH JESUS

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 29th FEBRUARY 2024 APPRECIATE HIS MINISTRY 1 Corinthians 12:3 Therefore I want you to know that no one who is speaking by the Spirit of God says, "Jesus be cursed," and no one can say, "Jesus is Lord," except by the Holy Spirit. (NIV) It is important that we recognize and appreciate the ministry of the Holy Spirit in our lives. He ministers to us every time but some do not recognize nor appreciate Him.  The Bible says "no one can say, "Jesus is Lord," except by the Holy Spirit." This seem so simple that many don't recognize that it was the Holy Spirit who helped them to say "Jesus is Lord." But no one can say that without the Holy Spirit. Every divine truth a man accepts is by the Holy Spirit. When you take note of the seemingly little things He does for you and appreciate Him, you would be able to walk with Him in greater things.  You should appreciate Him for being able to stu...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 28th FEBRUARY 2024 LIVE OUT YOUR TIME 1 Peter 1:17 Since you call on a Father who judges each person’s work impartially, live out your time as foreigners here in reverent fear. (NIV) The Apostle Peter said to live out your time. But what does that mean? It doesn't mean to spend your time. But to fulfill your time.  Your time on earth is only fulfilled when it fulfill what it was given for. He talked about God judging each person's work impartially, that means your time is for work. Everyone on earth is apportioned a time to fulfill a course. One's time can elapse. So you must be wise in making use of your time; your days on earth.  Don't shorten your time. What does that mean? It doesn't mean don't die before your time. It means don't spend your time on what it is not meant for.  Yes, you reduces the length of your time when you spend it on the unnecessary, because lost time may not be retrieve. Some dis...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 27th FEBRUARY 2024 RELATE WITH YOUR REALITY 3 John 1:4 I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth. (NIV) The Holy Spirit is given to us to guide us into the truth - John 16:13. But it is our responsibility to accept that truth and walk in it. God's word is the truth, that truth is your reality. Relate with it. What God says should be your experience. The Spirit of God expressing Himself through Apostle John says "I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth." It is God's desire and joy to see us walking in the truth. He wants you to relate with yourself, circumstances, people, satan and God in the light of your reality in Christ. The reality of who you are in Christ; son of God. In any situation God want you to be yourself; son of God. Relate with that situation in this truth. How you relate, react and deals must be in the light of your reality in C...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 26th FEBRUARY 2024 ALWAYS PRAY FOR MINISTERS 2 Thessalonians 3:1-2 Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you: And that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith. (KJV) The Apostle Paul writing to the church at Thessalonica requested that they offer prayers for him and his team, that the Gospel might have free course and be glorified, that they be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men. Two very important prayer points. And how we need to pray the same for our ministers today! The Gospel cannot have free course and be glorified unless we pray so. The protection, preservation and deliverance of the ministers of the Gospel from unreasonable and wicked men is in our prayers. We can't but pray for them always. We have to make it a habit to pray for ministers and the spread of the Gospel without which we wouldn...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 25th FEBRUARY 2024 ANGELS MINISTER FOR YOU Hebrews 1:14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation? (KJV) The Bible referring to Angels calls them ministering spirits sent to minister for us. They don't minister to us, they can't. That's the job of the Holy Spirit. He alone ministers to us.  For example the Angels cannot teach us the word of God, only the Holy Spirit does that.  Angels ministers for us, that is, they go around for us. And they only do that according to our words. We don't necessarily need to call them by name and send them out, no! they are already sent out for us. They wait on our words to act. Whenever we speak they take instructions from our words and go active for us. That's why what we say is very important. You can confuse the ministry of Angels in your life if you speak the wrong words. They wouldn't act but wonder why you tal...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 24th FEBRUARY 2024 BE HAPPY Psalms 9:2 I will be glad and rejoice in you; I will sing the praises of your name, O Most High. (NIV) Don't let your happiness depend on anything otherwise you would have a frustrating time through this world.  Happiness is different from joy. Joy is a fruit of the spirit, it's divine, it's your nature as a child of God. Happiness is an offspring of joy. Happiness is an outward expression of joy.  There is the happiness of favourable circumstances and happenings but true happiness is independent of anything. Like Joy happiness is an ability. And it create for you the right atmosphere to thrive. The enemy always aim at your happiness, if he gets that then he gets you off balance. He cannot carry out his activities around you when you maintain that atmosphere of happiness. So he attacks your happiness first.  It is your responsibility to make yourself happy. You have to be happy, laugh and s...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 23rd FEBRUARY 2024 ANTICIPATE A MIRACLE Psalms 5:3 In the morning, LORD, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly. (NIV) Maybe you find yourself in a tight situation and don't know what exactly to do, don't panic. Pray, lay your requests before God and anticipate a miracle.  It got to be a miracle. When you have exhausted all your ideas, resources and it seem time is against you. When people and circumstances fail to help out, then it got to be a miracle. It's not a miracle when you know where or how it would come. It's not a miracle when you know the channel that God would use. You are ready for a miracle when all your hope is solely and completely on God, the source, not knowing the channel He would use but you trust that He can and He's willing.   You come to that place where all you expect is a miracle. You know God is faithful and He will do it, but you have no hum...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 22nd FEBRUARY 2024 GOD'S WATCHMAN Ezekiel 3:17 "Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the people of Israel; so hear the word I speak and give them warning from me. (NIV) In Bible days nations would assigned a watchman or watchmen over their cities.  A watchman would stay on the city wall or a tall tower and keep sight around the city, once he saw happening around whether it's an enemy attack or something good was coming to the city he would blew a trumpet in varied sound which stood for varied meaning. Either it's a sound of war, danger, outbreak, good news, or something to celebrate. Once he did the city would be alerted to respond accordingly. But if he saw good news or bad news and failed to blow the trumpet he would be held responsible for any disadvantage it brought on the people. When we got born again God made us His watchmen. We are to watch our world (our spere of contact) and give them His word. We a...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 21st FEBRUARY 2024 HIS NATURE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS 2 Corinthians 5:21 God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. (NIV) We have become the righteouness of God in Christ Jesus. God made us so and declared that we are His righteousness. Some still struggle with this truth that the Christian is the righteouness of God. They look at all the wrongs they did and concluded (though contrary to what God says) that they are unrighteous.  Righteousness has nothing to do with right and wrong, it is the nature of God. Contrary to sin which is the nature of the devil; it is natural for him to do wrong. That's his nature; that's him.  God doesn't do right to be righteous; doing right is a natural expression of Himself. Righteousness is who He is. In Christ Jesus He has given us that nature of righteousness. He says we are His righteousness in Christ Jesus; that is a sovereign decl...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 20th FEBRUARY 2024 HE DELIVERS Psalms 34:19 The righteous person may have many troubles, but the LORD delivers him from them all; (NIV) Yes the righteous do have troubles. The trouble refer here is not oppression but challenges and oppositions. What's the difference? Oppression means suffering under the power of a superior foe. While challenges or opposition simply means being opposed or to face a sharp disagreement from a foe. The devil disagrees with anything good. He opposes it, but that doesn't mean he has the upper hand or superior. No! Jesus made us superior to Satan. Hallelujah! You may face challenges and oppositions but not oppression. And whatever challenges you face He brings you out of it victoriously. Never feel indifferent when challenges surface, it is normal. It's part of the walk and it's essential. You may have found yourself in a trouble right now. You might be faced with a seemingly insumountable...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 19th FEBRUARY 2024 WALK IN THE TRUTH  John 8:32 Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." (NIV) It is one thing to know the truth, another to understand the truth and still another to walk in it. Only the truth you walk in set you free. What is the truth? The truth is what God says. The truth is how things are before God, and how they are with your spirit. This is the reality. Your real environment is your spiritual environment; how and where you are without your body.  This spirit realm and who you are in that realm is what God speak of when He speaks of you. What then is your body for? It is to express what God says of you; which is who you truly are by your spirit. It is your spirit (the you) He refers to when He said all things are yours -- 1 Corinthians 3:21. Your body is given to express it on earth. Your body is meant to bear and express the truth (His Word). As a Christian you are not a sinner...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 18th FEBRUARY 2024 GRACE AND PEACE 2 Peter 1:2 Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, (KJV) A lot of times we ask God for grace and peace in our lives. But He has already given us the grace and peace He supposed. He expect us to multiply it, He showed us how in His Word; through knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord. The level of grace and peace you enjoy is dependent on how much knowledge of God and of our Lord Jesus you have. Knowing God is knowing grace and peace. The more we know Him the more grace and peace we have in our lives.  Jesus was full of grace. When He walked the earth He was grace in person. And of His fullness have we all received grace upon grace. He is the Prince of peace. When He walked the earth He was peace personified. Know Him know grace and peace. How much we grow in grace and peace depend on us; we can learn Him at will. He's ever ready to teach us ...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 17th FEBRUARY 2024 DON'T WISH FOR GOOD OLD DAYS Ecclesiastes 7:10 Do not say, "Why were the old days better than these?" For it is not wise to ask such questions. (NIV) Do you know that some people always look to their past and wish it could be repeated? Yeah, some wish for their good old days. They think their past is better. But that's not true. Today is always better than yesterday.  People only wish for good old days when they are unable to see the opportunities of today and the potentials of tomorrow. The past can never be better than the present or future. Wishing for good old days is an expression of defeat for today. Only the defeated wish for good old days that would never come.  Don't wish for good old days. And never allow the thought that yesterday is better than today. Each day is better than the previous. Don't look back to your past, instead cultivate today's potentials and make today wh...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 16th FEBRUARY 2024 THE CHURCH'S AUTHORITY Isaiah 9:6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. (NIV) The above scripture refers to Christ. It states that the government will be upon His shoulders. The government means authority. The authority will be upon His shoulders. That's responsibility. The same statement is made in Isaiah 22:22 I will place on his shoulder the key to the house of David; what he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open. It means authority to open and shut. It means to be in charge and dictate the pace.  The authority on His shoulders. He is the Head and we are His body -- Colossians 1:18. His shoulder is part of His body. The authority is with the Church. A lot of times we wait on God to do the things He expects us to do. He has given us the au...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 15th FEBRUARY 2024 IT'S INSIDE YOU Philemon 1:6 That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus. (KJV) The word communication in the above verse could also be rendered as fellowship, participation, sharing or involvement. So it could read "that your involvement in the faith, your sharing, participation, fellowship, communication of the faith with others might produce results by your recognition, understanding and acceptance of every good thing that are inside you in Christ Jesus." It means your sharing, giving, contribution to the furtherance of Gospel might become effectual, productive by your acknowledging of all the good things which is in you in Christ Jesus.  You see, some Christians desire to do more for and with the Gospel but at times they fall short. Some wish to be more fruitful with the Gospel, and more productive in the kingd...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 14th FEBRUARY 2024 IT IS ABOUT WORSHIP Exodus 8:1 Then the LORD said to Moses, "Go to Pharaoh and say to him, ’This is what the LORD says: Let my people go, so that they may worship me. (NIV) The principal message God sent Moses to say to Pharaoh was "Let my people go, so that they may worship me." It was about worship. They couldn't worship God in bondage. Worship is an expression of freedom. Where there is no freedom there is no worship. Where there is no worship there is bondage. When Jesus delivered us from the power of darkness He made us worshippers. We were set free to worship. Colossians 1:13 who delivered us out of the power of darkness, and translated us into the kingdom of the Son of his love;  No one worship in bondage. Worship cannot proceed from the domain of darkness to God's throne. Worship from those who are not free is filthy and unacceptable before God. Those who are not born again cannot w...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 13th FEBRUARY 2024 BORN OF THE SPIRIT John 3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. (KJV) When we received the Lord Jesus and got born again we were literally born of the Holy Spirit and as such we are a holy spirit; this might sound too big for some, but it's true. God expect us to function from our spirit by His Word.  Before Adam and Eve transgressed the Bible says in Genesis 2:25 "And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed." But after they transgressed, God called Adam and he responded in Genesis 3:10 "And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself." Prior to this time they functioned from their spirit and were not ashamed they were naked.  They were naked, they were aware but were not ashamed; it was not their relative reality because they were functioning from their spir...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 12th FEBRUARY 2024 EVERYTHING THAT HINDERS Hebrews 12:1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, (NIV) This journey we have embarked on is too demanding to accommodate unnecessary things. Don't occupy yourself with needless activities, associations, appointments -- throw them off. There could things, activities, associations that used to be useful to you but not anymorel. Then you no longer need them. The Bible says throw off everything that hinders. Lighten up yourself, you don't need unnecessary load. You must learn to know when a circle comes to an end. Don't waste your precious time and energy on something that has expired. Yes, some things expires, even activities and associations. When this happens you throw them off to lighten up yourself. Too ma...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 11th FEBRUARY 2024 PILGRIM TRAVELLERS Psalms 84:6-7 As they pass through the Valley of Baka, they make it a place of springs; the autumn rains also cover it with pools. They go from strength to strength, till each appears before God in Zion. (NIV) The valley of Baka means the valley of sorrow. They went from strength to strength as pilgrim travelers till each appeared before God in Zion. This refer not only to those who walked with God in the Old Testament but also to us. For their Zion was a typical of us (the Church). Like them we too are pilgrim travelers. A pilgrim traveler is someone on a far journey for a significant purpose. The scripture says we pass through the valley of Baka (sorrow). We don't stay there, we pass through. We don't fly, jumb or skip through. But pass through. It's an essential experience. He told us where we are on a journey to; till we appear before God in Zion. Oh sweet Zion! Oh sweet home! W...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 10th FEBRUARY 2024 NOT A DENIAL OF FACTS 2 Corinthians 4:8-9 We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. (NIV) Some people trying to make positive confession deny the facts of what they went through or are going through. Faith is not a denial of facts. Confession is not a denial of facts. Confession is saying the same thing in agreement with God's word. The Greek word for confession is homologeo. Homo means the same. Logeo means to speak. Literally it means to speak the same thing in agreement with God.  When we make confession of God's word it doesn't mean that we deny the existence of facts but we subject negative facts to the truth of God's word. Don't deny the fact that you were sick but got healed. Don't deny the fact that you were poor but become rich. Don't deny the facts that you had hard times b...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 9th FEBRUARY 2024 SUCCESS IS NOT IN A PLACE Isaiah 60:2 For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee. (NIV) Some people think relocating to another place is the best thing for them. Some become so uncomfortable where they are and think that there are other places they could succeed. When they see a fellow succeeding in a particular place then they plan to relocate there. But success is not in a place. It's not about a particular place, city or country.  Success has something to do with the position of your spirit not your physical body. You can succeed where others failed. Our theme scripture says "For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee." The whole world is covered with darkness, thick darkness. Ha...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 8th FEBRUARY 2024 YOU HAVE TO PRAY 1 Corinthians 14:15 So what shall I do? I will pray with my spirit, but I will also pray with my understanding; I will sing with my spirit, but I will also sing with my understanding. (NIV) Praying is an exercise of the will not an expression of emotion. You might not feel like to pray but you have to pray. There could be times you tried to pray but just felt indifferent about it. Though not motivated you still had to pray. You might yet to see the manifestation of your previous prayers but you still have to pray. Pray is a high necessity and should be a continuous consistent exercise. You may not have pressing needs to pray about but you still have to pray.  The Apostle Paul said "I will pray with my spirit, but I will also pray with my understanding; I will sing with my spirit, but I will also sing with my understanding." Praying and singing with your spirit is praying in tongues. Pray...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 7th FEBRUARY 2024 WAIT FOR IT Habakkuk 2:3 For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry. (KJV) When you receive a revelation from God's word and desire that it manifest in your life but then it seems nothing is going to happen. Be patient with the word, it will happen but at the appointed time. Maybe you received a word concerning your marriage or business but it's yet to be fulfilled, wait for it. It will be fulfilled at the appointed time.  When God gives a word or ordains a purpose He also appointed a time for it. It is important to know such time so that one wouldn't wait for the fulfilment at the wrong time. If we look at things differently from how God sees them we would miss the timing. Some of the things we see as being delayed are only gravitating to God's set time. He sets time for every...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 6th FEBRUARY 2024 FULLY PAID FOR John 19:30 When he had received the drink, Jesus said, "It is finished." With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit. (NIV) The statement "it is finished" in the above verse was translated from the Greek word "tetelestai." In the greek it is used in a legal way between lender and borrower. It means the debt is paid in full. When a borrower fully paid back his loan the lender would issued a receipt with the word "tetelestai" and then strike over the receipt with 'X'. It was a legal declaration that the debt was paid in full. Thus when Jesus used the word "tetelestai" He meant our debt of sin was fully paid for with His death. He paid in full. It is therefore our responsibility not to allow the effects of sin dominate us any more because we are no longer indebted to sin. By His death we were legally freed. It is our responsibility to wa...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 4th FEBRUARY 2024 ACCORDING TO THE SCRIPTURES 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, (NIV) What the Apostle Paul meant here is not, "He died, was buried and rose again according to the scriptures (records, what was written after it happened) no! What He meant is according to the scriptures (prophecies, what was written before it happened). That's very important to note. Jesus died, was buried and was raised according to prophecies. It is the result of His death and resurrection that we celebrate; the blotting away of our sins, and new life in Him. Hebrews 10:7 Then I said, ’Here I am —it is written about me in the scroll — I have come to do your will, my God.’"  He came to fulfill God's will of ultimate sacrifice for sin as it w...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 3rd FEBRUARY 2024 BE READY FOR OPPORTUNITIES 1 Kings 18:44 The seventh time the servant reported, "A cloud as small as a man’s hand is rising from the sea." So Elijah said, "Go and tell Ahab, ’Hitch up your chariot and go down before the rain stops you.’" (NIV) For three and half years it had not rained in Israel. Elijah informed King Ahab that a heavy was about to come down. And then he went off to pray. He prayed until cloud as small as a man's hand rose. It was about to rain. He sent his servant to King Ahab, saying "get ready your chariot and go down before the rain stops you." King Ahab like other people earnestly waited for rain over three years but he didn't know he had to prepare for its arrival. He ought to be at Jezreel. But he didn't know it. You see, it's not enough to wait, you have to be prepared for whatever you are waiting for. How long you waited is not as important as ...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 2nd FEBRUARY 2024 YOUR TRUE REALITY James 1:18 Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures. (KJV) Our Lord Jesus Christ declared in John 14:6 that He is the Truth; that is, the expression of God's word. He is Himself the Word of God. He is the reality of God. Anyone who saw Jesus saw God. He is God in expression and the proof of God.  Jesus is the Word that gave birth to us -- 1 Peter 1:23. Of His own will He gave birth to us with the Word of Truth -- the Gospel, so that we could become a people of Truth in the order of Jesus. And so are we now. It is only the Word of God that should matter in our lives. The Word is your true reality. Whatever situation we find ourselves only His word is our reality. Every situation and circumstance that doesn't line up with the word of God is a lying vanity and subject to change. It doesn't matter how long it's been t...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 1st FEBRUARY 2024 YOUR UNDERSTANDING OF CHRIST Ephesians 3:4 Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ) (KJV) Apostle Paul made the above statement in his letter to the church at Ephesus. He said to them "when you read my letter you will understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ." The Greek word translated "knowledge" in the above verse is "Sunesis." Sunesis means comprehension, insight and understanding. So what Apostle Paul said is simply, 'you will understand my comprehension, insight and understanding of the mystery of Christ when you read my letter. Apostle Paul had great understanding of the mystery of Christ. He received great abundance of revelation. That's why he did so much for the Gospel. What's your understanding of Christ? Not just what others said about Christ. What is your own sunesis? He said when you read you will understand my su...
