BREAKFAST WITH JESUS

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 31st MAY 2024 A WALK WITH GOD Genesis 5:24 And Enoch walked [in habitual fellowship] with God; and he was not, for God took him [home with Him]. [AMP] The Bible tells us in Hebrews 11:5 By faith Enoch was taken from this life, so that he did not experience death:... Enoch walked with God and did not experience death. God took him to heaven. It was a walk not a run with God. It's not as though Enoch walked the street with God, no! It was a daily walk (fellowship) with God. It was a habitual fellowship. And he did that consistently for three hundred years. No wonder God took him home with Him. He couldn't have let him experience death after a three hundred years walk with Him. We can walk the walk too. It is a daily fellowship with God. It is a walk not a run. It's a walk of process. It's a walk of experiencing God in diverse ways. It is an experiential walk empowered by revelation of His Word. It is a daily walk in t...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 30th MAY 2024 IT'S YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO SHINE Isaiah 60:1 "Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD rises upon you. (NIV) Having received Jesus the Glory of the Lord as your Lord God has set you on course to shine. When you were born of God you were born light; you are a light to the world. The Glory of the Lord has already risen upon you, your light has come, it is now your responsibility to arise and shine. As a Christian you don't have to wait for things to happen you can make them happen, that's what light does. Light illuminates! Find out who God made you and accept it. In His Word He said you are the light of the world, a city on a hill that cannot be hidden. He's not going to make you light. You are already light in the Lord, now arise and shine.  Ephesians 5:8 For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light Arise, shine, for your light h...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 29th MAY 2024 THERE IS GOOD IN IT Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. (KJV) Those who love God and are called according to His purpose also have challenges. When challenges come up don't complain instead look for the good in it. Don't keep your focus on the things that are not working instead look for the good that is being worked for you.  A child of God that loves God and functioning in His purpose can never be disadvantaged no matter what. It might seem failing but it won't fail. It might seem falling but it won't fall. It might seem drowning but it will not. "It might seem." It only seems so. It's working for your good. That's what the Word says and that's what it can be. You might be faced with challenges and trying to get victory over it, you will triumph. But also look for the good in i...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 28th MAY 2024 BORN A CITIZEN OF HEAVEN Acts 22:27-28 The commander went to Paul and asked, "Tell me, are you a Roman citizen?" "Yes, I am," he answered. Then the commander said, "I had to pay a lot of money for my citizenship." "But I was born a citizen," Paul replied. (NIV) During Paul's defence against the false charges of the Jews against him, the commanding officer handling the case ordered his soldiers to flog Paul but finding out that he was a Roman citizen did not dare to. But reported it to the commander. They respected his citizenship. After finding out from Apostle Paul. The commander said to him " "I had to pay a lot of money for my citizenship." Paul replied "But I was born a citizen,"  Roman citizenship was the highest citizenship in his day and they were highly respected. The same is true today. There are nations of the world whose citizens are given...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 27th MAY 2024 BE PRAYERFUL, WATCHFUL AND THANKFUL Colossians 4:2 Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. (NIV) It takes a strong will to be consistent in prayer. The desire to pray is not enough you must also have the willingness to pray; you will have to choose to pray.  Our theme scripture says "Devote yourselves to prayer..." in other words "give yourselves to prayer." This is not feeling to pray but the discipline to pray. There would be times you won't feel like praying even though you know the problem at hand requires prayer. Another important thing is being watchful. Watch as you pray. Look around you to see the changes that are taking place and the opportunities that are surfacing as a result of your prayer. Answered prayers could come in diverse ways and it is important you watch for your answered prayers. As you pray watch; examine your life to take note of what your prayer is doi...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 26th MAY 2024 RESPOND TO GOD 1 Samuel 3:9-10 So Eli told Samuel, "Go and lie down, and if he calls you, say, ’Speak, LORD, for your servant is listening.’" So Samuel went and lay down in his place. The LORD came and stood there, calling as at the other times, "Samuel! Samuel!" Then Samuel said, "Speak, for your servant is listening." (NIV) The young boy Samuel had not yet learned to respond to God. God called him three times and those times he went to Eli his master supposing he called him. Eli had to teach him how to respond to God. Then God called the fourth time "Samuel! Samuel!" And Samuel responded, "Speak, for your servant is listening." The Christian life is lived by responding to God. God talks to you by His Word and you have to respond to Him by speaking in agreement with His Word. When you respond to God's Word you respond to God. Some want to hear God outside His word...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 25th MAY 2024 EVER FAITHFUL GOD 1 Thessalonians 5:24 Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it. (KJV) God has made adequate preparation for what he called you to do. At every stage of the work provisions manifest. At every stage success is wrought. But when provisions and success seem missing it doesn't mean He has abandon the work He gave you to do, no! He is faithful to fulfill it. Apart from God being faithful to the specific assignments He gave you He is also faithful to all your endeavours and projects. He is faithful to your life and everything you do with it. Maybe you are struggling to get some things done right now, maybe things has gone from bad to worst but don't lose hope. He is still committed to make you a success. Even if you have written yourself off God is faithful to bring you a change. God initiated your life; your life is His dream and idea. He wants success for you than you want it. He fashio...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 24th MAY 2024 WE PARTNER WITH HIM Mark 16:20 And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen. (KJV) Through the Holy Spirit the Lord Jesus worked with the Apostles as they went about preaching the Gospel and He confirmed their message with signs and wonders. They worked together as partners. We are partners with God not staffs. A staff is an employed worker with limited information about the company he works. He has only a working information restricted to his job description. His interest and motive for working is the salary. The future of the company doesn't concern him. Whatever evil befall the company cannot affect him, he can leave for another job. But a partner is different. He has a share in the company. He invested into the company. His future lies with the company, the company's future is his interest and pursuit. He has everything to los...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 23rd MAY 2024 A NEW KIND OF MAN 2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! (NIV) It's important to understand that the Christian is not an extension of the first Adam. He really has no connection with him. The Christian began after the first man had been Judged and executed. They didn't even cross paths.  The Bible tells us there is the first Adam and the last or second Adam.  1 Corinthians 15:45-48 So it is written: "The first man Adam became a living being"; the last Adam, a life-giving spirit. The spiritual did not come first, but the natural, and after that the spiritual. The first man was of the dust of the earth; the second man is of heaven. As was the earthly man, so are those who are of the earth; and as is the heavenly man, so also are those who are of heaven. Jesus is the second and last Adam. He is the heavenly man and we are exact...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 22nd MAY 2024 FROM CHRIST POINT OF VIEW 2 Corinthians 5:16 So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer. (NIV) In this above verse Apostle Paul was not referring to the people of the world when he said "So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view." No! He was referring to Christians. Some of the Christians at the time still regarded themselves from a worldly point of view, that is, mere earthly beings. Apostle Paul said, no! We are more than earthly beings.  Then he went on to say "Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer." Even though Jesus performed many miracles most of the people of His day especially the religious leaders saw Him as just another man. But Jesus was more than a man. Later on, beginning with the disciples and many others believed that Jesus Christ was God Almighty in a human b...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 21st MAY 2024 THE MATURE BODY OF HIM Ephesians 4:15-16 Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ. From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work. (NIV) The church which is the body of Christ cannot successfully carry out her responsibilities untill she grows to maturity. And that growth only comes by understanding, speaking and living the truth in love. Ephesians 4:15-16 Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ. There is the expectation of maturity for everyone who comes into Christ, the head. Let us take individual Christian as an example. If a Christian is not mature in the things of God there is a lot God cannot do with him even though He desires to. ...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 20th MAY 2024 FLOOD WOULD COME Luke 6:47-48 As for everyone who comes to me and hears my words and puts them into practice, I will show you what they are like. They are like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built. (NIV) The Lord Jesus said "when a flood came" not "if a flood came." Flood would come against both those who practice God's Word and those who do not. But the difference is what happens to them. Trouble comes to everyone but the impact its leaves behind is what matters.  The Lord's statement in Luke 6:47-48 clearly states that those who received His word and practice it would still have trouble. The flood of life would still come against them. But the result is that they won't be shaken. Practising or doing the Word of God is what makes the difference. When ...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 19th MAY 2024 A WORD-MINDSET Romans 12:2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is —his good, pleasing and perfect will. (NIV) After we got born again the Holy Spirit seeks to renew our mind through the Word. Though our spirit became new at rebirth our mind is the same. Only through the Word of God is our mind made new. Renewing your mind is so essential to living the new life you have received in Christ. Our mind conveys the beautiful, glory and blessings of God in our spirit to our outward self and world.  Our outward transformation into the person we are in Christ is dependent on our mind. One could be born again and remain in the standard of the world; he could continue living as an ordinary person even though he is not. Until our mind is renewed and we are transformed we would conform to the standard of this wor...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 18th MAY 2024 WORDS ARE THINGS John 6:63 The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you —they are full of the Spirit and life. (NIV) How you use your words is very important. Learning to manage your words is very important. A lot of people do not know that they have to manage their words. You have to manage your words; that is, how you produce, construct and release words. It's important how you manage these three; produce, construct and release.  First, words are produced through thought. Words do not occur on their own, they are produced. If you were inside your house and heard words or voices outside you know for sure that someone is outside. Someone must be responsible for the voice or word.  Secondly, words are constructed. After a person produce his words through thought, he then construct how he is going to release them. Consciously or unconsciously he literally thinks thro...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 17th MAY 2024 MAKE EFFORT TO ADD UP 2 Peter 1:5-7 For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love. (NIV) In our Christian walk growth is essential to the level of success we would make in life. In fact, our primary success is spiritual growth, which eventually leads to success in other areas.  Our theme scripture listed virtues which results from spiritual growth and are also essential to spiritual growth. And implore us not to stop at any but to add up every of them. We keep adding up until we have them all operational within us. It says "make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; an...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 16th MAY 2024 WE FORM ONE BODY (CHRIST) 1 Corinthians 12:12-13 Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. For we were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body —whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free —and we were all given the one Spirit to drink. (NIV) When we say "we are Christ" some people get offended, others are ready to argue til Christ returns. But this above scripture alone is very clear on that subject. It says all of us who are many forms one body just as a human body which has many parts is one body.  You know your body has many parts; legs, hands, stomach, mouth, eyes etc., And these makes up the you. And this you has a name, and all your body parts bears that name.  If your name is Isaac, your hand wouldn't bear Abraham nor your legs Moses. Your whole body is one though has many parts and would bear the name Isaac. So it is with Christ....

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 15th MAY 2024 GOOD WILL IS GOODNESS Luke 2:14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. (NIV) This scripture is in respect to the birth of Jesus. When the Angel brought the news of Jesus' birth to the shepherds one of the things he said was "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, GOOD WILL toward men." -- Luke 2:14. The Angel meant that Jesus coming into the world would bring glory to God, and peace on earth, and good will to men.  Good will in this context means favour, delight, beauty, satisfaction and goodness. Jesus brought goodness to man. Everyone who is born again is surrounded by God's goodness and good will. The Christian is surrounded by God's good will and favour yet not every Christian enjoy these. That's because not everyone know about it, and some of those who knows do not walk in the consciousness.  When you go out are you conscious that God's goodn...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 9th MAY 2024 FOLLOW THE SPIRIT Jude 1:19 These are the people who divide you, who follow mere natural instincts and do not have the Spirit. (NIV) A lot of Christians make mistake a lot of times because they fellow mere natural instincts. Natural instincts is not a good judgment on what is right or wrong because right or wrong cannot only be defined by the Spirit.  You would here someone say "my instinct told me to do it." That's wrong. You can't afford to live your life on mere natural instincts. Your natural instinct is very limited in making the right choices in life. What it tells you is good for you might spell doom for you in the nearest future. The Bible says in our theme scripture that there are people who follow mere natural instincts and do not have the Spirit. But you have the Spirit, follow the Spirit. The new creation is created to live by the Spirit. Your natural way to life is by the Spirit.  Galatia...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 8th MAY 2024 MERCY, PEACE AND LOVE Jude 1:2 Mercy, peace and love be yours in abundance. (NIV) Experiencing mercy, peace and love are fundamental blessings of salvation. We were brought into peace with God through His mercy and love extended to us in Christ Jesus. These three are not only benefits of being saved but also our expression. We have not only received mercy, peace and love but also extends these to people.  His mercy means He overlooked our short-comings and gave us grace instead. His peace means He brought us into harmony and fellowship with Himself. His love means we are the receivers of His goodness and dispensers of the same. These three not only brought us into the Kingdom but sustains us also. Any place, organization, family or settings where there is no mercy, peace and love no one survives. Not even the strongest in their midst.  Every home that would last is built on mercy, peace and love.  God has...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 7th MAY 2024 THE MOST EXCELLENT WAY 1 Corinthians 12:31 Now eagerly desire the greater gifts. And yet I will show you the most excellent way. (NIV) Apostle Paul admonish us in this above verse to desire greater gifts of the Spirit, but then said there is the most excellent way. Simply mean, there is something greater and more excellent than great gifts. That most excellent way is love.  The excellent way of life is love. Loving is the most excellent way to live life. Love is higher than every other call we might have received. Love is the highest call for a Christian. You cannot even fulfill any other call fully without love. If you were called and gifted with the gifts of healing you can't healed the sick if you don't have love and compassion towards them. Every spiritual gift is limited in its function without love.  1 Corinthians 13:2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if ...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 6th MAY 2024 YOU NEED MORE THAN FOOD Matthew 4:4 Jesus answered, "It is written: ’Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’ " (NIV) Food is for your body. The Word is for your spirit. You have inward self and outward self. 2 Corinthians 4:16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. What renews the inward? The Word of God and the Spirit of God. Apostle Paul said in the above scripture that "Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day." Outwardly they faced hardships, hunger and persecutions, and it seemed their bodies were wasting but their inward self was constantly being renewed daily because they gave attention to the Word and the Spirit. If you give more attention to your outward self to feed and care for but neglect your inward self which is more imp...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 5th MAY 2024 AS LONG AS YOU ACT ON THE WORD Matthew 14:29-30 "Come," he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, "Lord, save me!" (NIV) Challenges are constant in life as wind is constant over a sea, but whether or not one sink in the challenges of life depends on his response to them. One's attitude and response in time of challenges makes the difference. Peter walked on water by acting on Jesus' word "come." As long as he acted on that word he walked on water but the moment he began to observe the wind he began to sink. His attitude and response to the wind was fear.  Life is to be lived on God's Word. Though there are winds or challenges of life as long as we act on the Word we would not sink. So many have sunk amidst the wind of life. Many great destinies have been swa...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 4th MAY 2024 IF IT HAPPENS TODAY Matthew 24:37-39 As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. (NIV) When the topic of Jesus' coming for the Church is mentioned some think it lightly. They say we have been hearing that for a long time. True, and it will happen some day; what if it happens today? What is your fate and faith? You see, the rapture of the church will happen in an instant, only those walking in faith will not be surprised and will be taken to be with the Lord. For others it will be a shock and a call to repentance.  The Bible likens that day to the days of Noah. People will continue to do things as it has ...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 3rd MAY 2024 THE IMPLICATION OF WORDS Matthew 12:36-37 But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken. For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned." (NIV) Every word has effect yet not everyone consider his words. You find people who utter words rashly without giving thoughts to their words.  Actions are products of words. God is not only going to judge our actions but also our words. In fact the primary basis for judgment is words. Words has implication for today and tomorrow, in this world and hereafter. Give thoughts to your words.  The Lord Jesus said everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken. Empty words are words not inspired by the Holy Spirit. Words that are inspired by the Holy Spirit acquits you, words not inspired by the Holy Spirit condemns. You will hav...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 2nd MAY 2024 YOUR FUTURE IS HERE Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. (NIV) God had plans for the old testament folks regarding the future. The Prophets often spoke prophetically about a glorious future. Isaiah prophesied about a future. Isaiah 43:18-19 "Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing!... And many other Prophets spoke about the sufferings of Christ and the future glory that would follow. 1 Peter 1:10-11 Concerning this salvation, the prophets, who spoke of the grace that was to come to you, searched intently and with the greatest care, trying to find out the time and circumstances to which the Spirit of Christ in them was pointing when he predicted the sufferings of the Messiah and the glories that would follow. The Prophets spoke about the grace that was ...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 1st MAY 2024 WE ARE SEATED WITH CHRIST Ephesians 2:6 And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, (NIV) First it is important to understand that Jesus and His church is one inseparable Person. Jesus and His body the church is an individual.  The Holy Spirit baptized or immersed us into Christ such that we are swallowed up in Him. 1 Corinthians 12:13 For we were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body —whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free —and we were all given the one Spirit to drink. And now we are clothed with Christ. Christ is our identity. Galatians 3:27-28 for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. We all are One individual with Christ. And we have all received of His fullness. Who He is we are, wha...
