BREAKFAST WITH JESUS

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 17th SEPTEMBER 2024 MEDITATE AND PROSPER Joshua 1:8 Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. (NIV) If a financial expert or even a medical doctor gave you a book and said to you "meditate on this book and prosper." I tell you, you would do it again and again. But that's exactly what God says to us in Joshua 1:8 yet many of us don't do it.  We go to financial, success or prosperity seminars hoping to get the format to success and prosperity, we read books trying to find how to be successful and prosperous. But God already gave us the answer. He literally said to us in Joshua 1:8 meditate and prosper.  True and lasting prosperity is by the Word of God. Find out in God's Word scriptures regarding prosperity and meditate upon them. He tells us how to meditate in Joshua 1:8, kee

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 16th SEPTEMBER 2024 OFFER A SACRIFICE OF PRAISE Hebrews 13:15 Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise —the fruit of lips that openly profess his name. (NIV) One peculiarity with the old testament mode of worship was sacrifice. They would kill and offer animals for sacrifices at worship service on the sanctuary. They did this endlessly until Jesus came. When He came He said God doesn't desire such sacrifices. So He offered Himself to God as the ultimate sacrifice. Hebrews 10:5,12 Therefore, when Christ came into the world, he said: "Sacrifice and offering you did not desire, but a body you prepared for me; But when this priest had offered for all time one sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God, He offered Himself for our sins once and for all. So we don't need to offer animal sacrifices today. Rather our sacrifice is through Jesus Christ, a sacrifice of praise; t

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 15th SEPTEMBER 2024 RELY ON HIS LOVE 1 John 4:16 And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them. (NIV) One thing that is central to our life and the Gospel of Jesus is the love of God. God loves you. This should mean something to you. It means He takes notice of you and that His attention is on you for good and not for evil. You can rely on His love. In a world where we do not know who to trust or rely on, we can trust and rely on God because He loves us. And more than that He is Himself love. It is impossible for Him to change His nature of love. He will always love you. We are victorious not because of anything of ourselves but of Him and His love. The only thing that could separate you from the love of God is you. God wouldn't separate from you. No devil can separate you from God's love and blessings.  Romans 8:35-37 Who shall separate us from the love

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 14th SEPTEMBER 2024 YOUR SHIELD, GLORY AND LIFTER Psalms 3:3 But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head. (KJV) If the Lord had not been a shield around us the enemy would have torn us down. The only reason we are still up and running is because the Lord shields us. Our adversary and adversities in life had never given us a breathing space. Apostle Paul said in 2 Corinthians 4:8-9, "We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed." The Lord shields us so that no matter what happens we are not knockout. He is our shield, glory and lifter. When trouble and persecution comes He shields us while the trouble and persecution achieve for us a great weight of glory. It is His glory that is revealed in and through us, the more we are hard pressed the more His glory presses out.  2 Corinthians 4:17 Fo

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley  13th SEPTEMBER 2024 LOOK FORWARD TO IT Hebrews 11:15-16 If they had been thinking of the country they had left, they would have had opportunity to return. Instead, they were longing for a better country —a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them. (NIV) One of the encouraging factors for a Christian is the fact that there is a place for us hereafter. And it is important that we set our minds on it and look forward to that day.  Referring to the faith-folks of the old testament, the Bible says "If they had been thinking of the country they had left, they would have had opportunity to return. Instead, they were longing for a better country". They knew beyond senses that there was a better place for them. And they looked forward to it. They had many things to set their minds on in this world; their wealth, influence, fame, troubles, hard times and failures but th

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 12th SEPTEMBER 2024 NOT ANYTHING TO ANYONE Matthew 7:6 "Do not give dogs what is sacred; do not throw your pearls to pigs. If you do, they may trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces. (NIV) Spiritual things are not recognized by a natural man. The blessings of the Kingdom of God doesn't make sense to a natural man. Giving them such things is a waste. The things we call precious and sacred, and holds in the highest regard are not anything to some people. It's important who you give precious things. Not anything to just anyone.  When Issac blessed Jacob his son, he didn't give him a thing but words. To the natural man that sounds absurd. A father tells his son to cook a delicious meal for him to eat and then he shall bless him. After eating the natural man would be expecting his father to give him properties, riches and the likes as blessing. But Isaac said to Jacob in Genesis 27:28 "May G

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 11th SEPTEMBER 2024 FIX YOURSELF FIRST Matthew 7:3-4 "Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, ’Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? (NIV) There were certain friends who were both married. They both had challenges in their marriages but one of them often covered up the problems in his marriage not for positive reasons or attitude. He always professed solution to his friend's marital problems instead of fixing his own.  We have lot of people who are like that today. They are experts in analysing and profiling solution to people's problems when they have no answer to theirs. The Bible teaches us to help others but not when we have no solution to our own problems. That's being a busy body. It's like your car broke down on a highway then you offer to help so

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 10th SEPTEMBER 2024 JUDGING IS SOWING Matthew 7:1-2 "Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. (NIV) The above scripture is so clear on what it says. It implies that when you judge others you are sowing a seed for others to judge you.  A man of God who understands this once said "when people judge me, I asked myself 'Am I reaping or they are sowing?"   That's an interesting question. It shows an understanding; that when people are judging you it is either you are reaping for judging others in the past or they are sowing to be judged in their future. Desist from judging others. People do not read conscious meaning into judging other people. When you judge others you are condemning them. You judge or criticize them because you think you are better than them, that you would have done or said what th

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 9th SEPTEMBER 2024 DON'T WORRY -- TRUST GOD Hebrews 13:5 Let your character or moral disposition be free from love of money [including greed, avarice, lust, and craving for earthly possessions] and be satisfied with your present [circumstances and with what you have]; for He [God] Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. [I will] not, [I will] not, [I will] not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let [you] down (relax My hold on you)! [Assuredly not!] (AMP) A craving for money destabilises a Christian. Working to earn money is not a bad thing. But living to get money is a bad thing. There are lot of people whose lives revolves only about how to get money; they have an insatiable craving for money. That only shows where their trust lies. Their trust and dependence is on money not God.  God says to the Christian but don't love money such that it becomes your

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 8th SEPTEMBER 2024 STAY YOUR MIND ON HIM Isaiah 26:3 You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You. (NKJV) Many Christians want peace in their lives but they never stay their minds on God. This scripture just tells us the one remedy to worries is to stay one's mind on God. Even though most Christians know this only very few apllies it. Some would rather stay their mind on something else.  Why stay your mind on something that would make you anxious and uncomfortable when you could easily stay it on God? The mind is a very powerful instrument that makes or mars one's whole life depending on how it is used. One could destroy his whole life through a wrong processing of his mind or make his life successful and glorious by right use.  You have one mind if you stay it on God He would magnify in your life, if you stay it on your problems they would magnify.  Let's read our them scrip

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 7th SEPTEMBER 2024 HE EXALTS YOUR HORN Psalms 92:10 You have exalted my horn like that of a wild ox; fine oils have been poured on me. (NIV) Horn in this context or even in Bible general context means strength, authority, honour or glory. God takes delight in exalting our horns. He exalts our strength, authority, honour and glory so we could be more effective in carrying out our responsibilities in the Kingdom.  Exalted horn is promotion. God promotes us as we diligently carry out our responsibilities in the Kingdom. This promotion comes with higher authority and its jurisdiction, and it has bearing first in the spiritual before the physical. We have rankings in the realm of the spirit. Which in turn determines the level of our authority in the spirit. Different levels of spiritual authority is required to conquer a village, city, region or nation for the Kingdom. An authority ranked for a city cannot conquer a nation no matter how

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 6th SEPTEMBER 2024 PROMOTION COMES FROM THE LORD Psalms 75:6-7 For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another. (KJV) Someone brought his friend to be employed at the company he works. His friend was employed, after a short time he was promoted to the position of manager. He became higher than and became the boss of the person who brought him to the company.  The fellow who brought him wondered why he hasn't be promoted but the person he just brought in has. He had to look to God. The Bible says "But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another." Promotion comes from God. You should work heartily and diligently at your place of work but it shouldn't be because you want to please your boss and win his favour to be recognized or promoted. Work there as serving the Lord. You could do your best to plea

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 5th SEPTEMBER 2024 HE EXALTS IN DUE TIME 1 Peter 5:6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: (KJV) Under the mighty hand of God refers to discipline in hard times. When we are passing through challenges God keeps His hand over us to strengthen us to go through. Oftentimes we want the challenge or hardship to be taken away. We even pray to Him asking Him to remove the challenge from us. But He doesn't always do that. Often He strengthen us to go through, then exalts us in due time.  He exalts us in due time does not only mean He gives us victory in due time but also that God promotes us after such trial. In our Kingdom promotion always follows trials. So if you are asking for promotion, mind you, trial would come first. Unless you get your promotion after trial you cannot sustain it.  There are occasions we felt we are due for promotion. We think we are due to be announced or

And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." (NIV) Prior to Jesus' ascension He gave the above instruction to His disciples. He said "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations..." The Greek translated disciples is "mathēteuō". It means to make students. He literally said make students of all nations.  The church is a school. It is the Kingdom's school here on earth. We are to win souls, bring them into the church and make them students of the Word of God. Teaching and educating them in the truths of the Gospel and how to apply it in their lives. That's what the church should really be about. Every other would proceed from the lear

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 3rd SEPTEMBER 2024 WHEN PEOPLE REJECT YOU Matthew 21:42 Jesus said to them, "Have you never read in the Scriptures: "’The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone; the Lord has done this, and it is marvelous in our eyes’? (NIV) There are phases of life. One of such phases is the phase or season of rejection. This phase precedes the phase of celebration, promotion or God's announcement.  People will reject you for a reason perculiar to them alone. It might not be because of a wrong you committed. It might be their wrong perception of you or their own bad attitude or something else. Whatever reason for which people reject you is not what matters but your attitude towards it. When people reject you don't get bitter or offensive, they rejected Jesus too. And every Godly person is rejected at one time or the other.  As a child of God when people reject you it is because you have outgrown them and the circ

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 2nd SEPTEMBER 2024 REFINED THROUGH AFFLICTION Isaiah 48:10 See, I have refined you, though not as silver; I have tested you in the furnace of affliction. (NIV) Gold is rough and unattractive when extracted. To unveil its beauty it had to go through the refining furnace which burns out the rough and unattractive part of it. Same with anyone who would carry the most glorious things and blessings of the Kingdom of God.  Even when one gets born again, that raw state still cannot carry the deep and precious things of the Kingdom. God had to work on him, refine him into a conducive state which can convey the essence of God. And one process of doing that is the furnace of affliction.  Read again what God says in Isaiah 48:10, "See, I have refined you, though not as silver; I have tested you in the furnace of affliction." Does He intentionally brings test and trials to us? No! The test and trials of life comes to everyone natural

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 1st SEPTEMBER 2024 LEARNING -- A PART OF PREPARATION Luke 2:46-47 After three days they found him in the temple courts, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions. Everyone who heard him was amazed at his understanding and his answers. (NIV) Jesus started His earthly ministry at the age of thirty. Prior to that time He went through preparatory process. Part of the preparation was learning. Jesus had to learn.  We read about Him in our theme scripture, how at the age of twelve He sat among the teachers of the law, listening to them, asking questions, and even answering their questions. He was learning. It was part of His preparation. We too must go through preparatory process, and learning is one part of it.  Whatever it is God called you to fulfill in this world you will have to be trained for it first. If you are not adequately prepared you won't be able to carry it to fulfillment. How long and wel
