BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 31st AUGUST 2025 HIS NATURE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS 2 Corinthians 5:21 God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. (NIV) We have become the righteouness of God in Christ Jesus. God made us so and declared that we are His righteousness. Some still struggle with this truth that the Christian is the righteouness of God. They look at all the wrongs they did and concluded (though contrary to what God says) that they are unrighteous.  Righteousness has nothing to do with right and wrong, it is the nature of God. Contrary to sin which is the nature of the devil; it is natural for him to do wrong. That's his nature; that's him.  God doesn't do right to be righteous, rather doing right is a natural expression of Himself. Righteousness is who He is. In Christ Jesus He has given us that nature of righteousness. He says we are His righteousness in Christ Jesus; that is a sovereign...

When he made love to her, the LORD enabled her to conceive, and she gave birth to a son. (NIV) Ruth married Mahlon the son of Naomi. He died ten years after and they had no child. Naomi her mother-in-law decided to return to her hometown Judah after she lost her husband and two sons. She persuaded Ruth and her other daughter-law to go back to their respective families. But Ruth insisted she will go with her wherever she went. It was a tough time for Ruth, she could have gone back to her family with the hope to remarry. But she choose rather to go with her poor mother-in-law. A change was coming to her even though she didn't anticipate it, God was working it. BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 29th AUGUST 2025 A DRASTIC CHANGE -- THE WALL OF JERUSALEM Nehemiah 1:3-4 They said to me, "Those who survived the exile and are back in the province are in great trouble and disgrace. The wall of Jerusalem is broken down, and its gates have been burned with fire." When I heard these things, I sat down and wept. For some days I mourned and fasted and prayed before the God of heaven. (NIV) In our previous article (yesterday's) we learnt about the drastic change that occurred in the life of Joseph. Today we want to look at the drastic change that happened with the wall of Jerusalem. Jerusalem had been destroyed and its wall and gates brought down, and its people taken into exile except a few.  The wall of Jerusalem laid in ruins until God laid it the heart of Nehemiah and stirred him up and led him to do something about it. I was forcibly carried off from the land of the Hebrews, and even here I have done nothing to deserve being put in a dungeon." (NIV) A man's life and story could change just in a moment. You probably have read about Joseph in the Bible, how his own brothers sold him into slavery in Egypt. When he got to Egypt, things were looking good for him even as a slave to Potiphar. One day Potiphar's wife spoilt things for Joseph because he refused her advances to go to bed with her. She laid rape accusation against Joseph which led him to prison. He was imprisoned indefinitely without any trial or chance of defense.  In prison, the Bible says the Lord was with Joseph. And that is because Joseph was also with God. (NIV) The Lord said "My food is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work." And that's actually what He lived for. Food in this context is pleasure. His pleasure and fulfillment was in doing the Father's will and completing the work He gave Him.  We look for pleasure and satisfaction in our endeavors. The outside world also seek pleasure and fulfilment to no avail. They undertake many ventures in search for pleasure and fulfillment. BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 26th AUGUST 2025 AS IS THE HEAVENLY MAN 1 Corinthians 15:48 As was the earthly man, so are those who are of the earth; and as is the heavenly man, so also are those who are of heaven. (NIV) When the Bible says earthly man it means the first creation, which is the first Adam. And it also means the man from the earth. When it says the heavenly man, it refers to Jesus, the second and last Adam, the man from heaven. You can see that there is distinction between the two. One from the earth, the other from heaven. And obviously their features and functions differs. When you were born into this world by your parents you were born in the order of the first Adam, and your origin was earthly. But having been born again you are born after the second and last Adam, Jesus Christ. And you are heavenly as He is heavenly. This means your origin and citizenship is in heaven. (NIV) Grace is divine help. Divine help is grace. God doesn't intend for us to live life on our physical strength, because life is spiritual. He has made provision of grace for us to live victoriously and joyfully.  Grace is available for everything. And only those who have received mercy find grace. And everyone who is born again has received mercy. We can look for grace to meet our needs as they arise.  Before God's throne of grace we receive mercy and find grace. (KJV) Apostle Paul wrote to the young Timothy truths of the Gospel and how to go about his ministry. Then he told him to meditate on those things he had written to him. In other he asked him to meditate on the truths of the Gospel so that the results and profits would be evident in his life.   If you ever find it difficult to manifest the truths of the Gospel in your life you just got the solution --- meditate on the truths. (NIV) The account of the ten lepers recorded for us in Luke 17 verse 12 to verse 19 teaches us the importance and blessing of testimony. When some have received from God they never thought it wise to come back and share their testimony. You can't see God physically and testify to Him. When He blessed you or ministered to your need He used someone. You can go back to that person to share your testimony also.  Ten men who had leprosy came to Jesus to be healed. God is abe to do immeasurably but in accordance with His power which works in us. God cannot do for you more than His power that is operational within you. (NIV) This above verse clearly states that there are two Adams, the first and the last Adam. Adam means mankind or humanity. There was the first mankind, who began here on earth. And there is the second (last) mankind who came down from heaven.  The Bible says the first man became a living being, that is, he was given life to live. But the second and last man is a life-giving spirit. This simply means He gives life. And this is Jesus and His body the church. The last Adam is not the Jesus before resurrection. Think about that for a moment. God's Word is alive and active. His spoken word is His activeness. In other words if God wanted to do anything He does it simply by His spoken word. God's Word is the absolute. God's Word is the truth; the light and the reality. And there are no two truths. There are things that are not twos in this world. If you ever find a second it must be the counterfeit. Truth is one. What God says is the truth, and whatever He says about anything is the truth about it.  Some people when they have a challenge, maybe a health challenge, and you tell them God's Word concerning their health, that they are not supposed to be sick. (NIV) This above scripture refers first to the people of Israel then prophetically to the church. For the Israelites on Mount Zion, Jerusalem, the city of David they have been delivered from the Egyptians and their surrounding enemies. Religion tells us that walking with God is walking in poverty and suffering, but that's not scriptural. There are no examples in the Bible to back this claim. Indeed the whole of the scriptures pictures Christ. Christ is the living Word of God. The written Word of God reveals Christ.  For example when the scriptures talks about righteousness and teaches us to walk in it, it's only showing us to live as Christ the Righteous One. (KJV) There are Christians who wish they have enough faith. They would say "I wish I have that kind of faith", or "I wish my faith is enough." But faith comes by hearing the Word of God. Faith is not scarce. It is not something we can't afford or find. Faith comes by hearing the Word. All that such people need is to hear the Word.  When you study the Word an important aspect is revelation. Faith doesn't come by merely reading or hearing the Word but by the revelation of the Word. It is when the Word is revealed to your spirit that faith comes; faith comes to your spirit when the Word is revealed to your spirit. Someone could hear the Word and still not have faith.  Notice something in our theme verse, it says "So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." R...

It also says that God made us meet to be partakers. This means He qualifed us to share in the inheritance. This is not our making; the inheritance and our qualification is not our making. Some Christians are not conscious that there is an inheritance for them. Some think they have to earn it, but inheritance is not earned. Reward is earned but inheritance is by birth. Inheritance is a right, reward comes by work. And beautifully our theme scriptures says God has qualified us to partake of the inheritance of the saints. (NIV) Erroneously some people want to reap more than they sow. Because what is sown multiplies they unhealthily expect beyond what they sow and some even expect harvest where they did not sow. Even though sowing multiplies it cannot multiply more than what is sown. If sowing multiplies ten times; then 1 can only multiply to 10, and 2 to 20. If you sow 2 and expect 100, it's unhealthy and unrealistic. And it is self deception to think it is faith.
