BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 30th APRIL 2024 THANK GOD FOR THINGS TO COME John 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. (KJV) Instead of worrying about the bad that might happen tomorrow or living in the fantasy of the good that might happen tomorrow, why not just thank God for the things to come? Just thank Him for the things to come; both the good and the seemingly bad. The Bible says the Holy Spirit will show you things to come. And when He does He doesn't take you out of today into tomorrow or cause you to abandon today and live in the fantasy of tomorrow, no! When He shows you things that would come tomorrow it is so that you prepare yourself today for them. It is to align your today to produce the tomorrow you are destined for. When He shows you a great tomorrow He wants you to put th

Each day has enough trouble of its own. (NIV) One of the things that make people unproductive in the now and not even enjoy the blessings and privileges of today is the worry about tomorrow. Our Lord Jesus said in our opening verse "Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." In other words He said, leave tomorrow for now. Face today's challenges, when tomorrow's challenges come you face them. If you set your mind on the troubles that might arise tomorrow you won't see the solutions for today's problems. If you set your heart on tomorrow's possibilities you won't see the opportunities of today. If you are getting yourself ready for the excitement and celebration which tomorrow might brin

If you bite and devour each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other. (NIV) The Bible declares that every one of us who has received Christ is a member of the Body of Christ. And as such all of us makes up one individual body. I am you and you are me. And we all belongs to each other. Our theme scripture instructs us not to bite and devour each other or we might destroy ourselves. Yet some of us don't yield to this. You find in the church all manner of gossips. We malign each other. We criticize each other. We backstab each other and eventually we are destroying ourselves. This is one of the reasons the church of our day is not walking in power. The early church walked in love and walked in power. They were of one mind. Whenever they had dispute they

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 27th APRIL 2024 IT IS FOR FREEDOM Galatians 5:1 It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. (NIV) This above verse clearly implies that freedom is the purpose for which Christ set us free. He set us free so that we could experience and enjoy freedom, and walk in it continually.  God doesn't want us to be under any bondage to anything or anyone, or being controlled by anything or anyone. Only God is above us, His children. We can only be under His Lordship, leadership and Fatherhood. We are not in bondage to God and He doesn't manipulate our lives. It is not His idea that we should be manipulated by any man, devil or circumstances of life. He wants us free. God want you free. Don't let yourself be burdened and controlled by senses, demons or circumstances of life. And don't be in bondage to men. Galatians 4:25-26 Now Hagar stands f

Living outside the Grace of Christ is living outside the will of God. It is God's will that we live in the Grace of Christ. Living in the Grace of Christ also means living in the place of Christ, that is, living in His stead.  The Christian Life is living the Christ life. A Christian is one who live the Christ life. And that is what Grace is; living in everything He is and has -- living on His merit and not your own merit. You were born and called to live in the grace of Christ. You died in His death, His life began in you in His resurrection. The life you have in you now is His very life. Living t

And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body. (NIV) The Bible declares that there are heavenly bodies and earthly bodies. 1 Corinthians 15:40 There are also heavenly bodies and there are earthly bodies; but the splendor of the heavenly bodies is one kind, and the splendor of the earthly bodies is another.  Simply say, there is a body used in heaven and there is a body used on earth. This our earthly body cannot be used in heaven. We cannot enter heaven with our earthly bodies. We will have to be changed. And the Bible says in 1 Corinthians 15:51, "Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed —" How exactly are we going to look when we

(KJV) The mystery and blessings of the Gospel of Christ is not made known to everyone but only those who has received Jesus and yielded their wholeheart to Him. The trusts of the Gospel are confidential. Only a trustworthy and reliable person could receive them.  Apostle Paul said that God committed the Gospel to His trust. Not every Christian is entrusted with the deep things of the Kingdom, even though God would that every Christian has full knowledge of the deep trusts of the Gospel. These trusts are not giveaways. Someone has to be trustworthy for them, they are confidential. You find some people since they became Christians they have never led anyone to salvation. These kind of people would be limited in the knowledge of the Kingdom, because they are not bearing fruit with what they already

The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; surely I have a delightful inheritance. (NIV) What the Psalmist is alluding in the above verse is actually a picture where land is being divided among the inheritors. Let us say, a father is sharing his landed property among his sons. They used a measuring line to divide the boundaries from one end to the other. The Psalmist said "my own boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; surely I have a delightful inheritance." In other words I got the best share. In this world, things have been shared and are being shared. People chose what they deem the best. But for us Christians, our share is Christ. And He is a secured share. As a Christian it is important that you recognize that the Lord Jesus is your lot. And He is your secured lot.  When the

When He recreated you in Christ Jesus He created in you everything that gives Him delight.  Read our theme scripture again, Psalms 16:3 I say of the holy people who are in the land, "They are the noble ones in whom is all my delight." Who are these holy people? Those recreated in Christ Jesus are holy people. We were created in Him holy. He created us to be like Him with all His delight inside us. (NIV) In life when anything is legally given to you it becomes yours even if you do not qualify for it, and no one can take it from you not even the giver. For example, if someone bought you a house with your name fully documented on it. It becomes yours automatically even if you do not deserve it. And he can't come back and take it from you because it's legalized and your name is on it. Jesus said He has given you eternal life and that no one can take it from you. (KJV) Everyone wants to be established in life. Everyone wants his business, job, ministry and endeavours to be established and successful. But now everyone applies the right principles. One of the principles of being established and successful in life is decrees. Your establishment in life is in your decrees. If you are going to be established and successful in life you have to learn to decree God's word. You would want your life to be established and fully grounded and unshakeable. But that doesn't happen by chance. Only by a conscious and deliberate act. You will have to establish your life through your words.  The Bible says "you shall decree a thing and it shall be established unto you and light will shine on your ways."  Your life is established

(KJV) Isaiah speaking prophetically about Christ's suffering and death for the sins of mankind spoke of what will ensue from it. He said "he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days." The church is the seed of Christ, and through the church He is prolonging His days in the earth. Christ is still very much on earth through the church. Another aspect of being the seed of Christ is that the church and Christ is the seed of Abraham. When He says "He shall see His seed." It means an extension of Himself, not another like Him.  The seed of Abraham God referred when He spoke to Abraham was of physical and spiritual. Isaac was his physic

Pray to the LORD for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper." (NIV) There are two word-elements here we should consider carefully; SEEK and PRAY.  God did not ask us to only seek the peace and prosperity of our nations but to also pray the same. Firstly, even in our personal lives, if we only seek peace and prosperity, and not pray for the same, chances are we won't get there. We might get something that looks like it but it can never be it. Prayer alone cannot make us prosperous nor does seeking alone. The two elements must be combined. If you were actively advocating for peace and prosperity in your locality and not pray along, you would only end up wearing out yourself. And if on the other hand you are only praying for peace and prosperity but not seekin

(NIV) One of the worries a young person has is his future. But it is not only the young who has a future. When people get old they no longer think about doing anything in the future. They no longer have inspiration about tomorrow, they are only concerned about each day that comes. As long as you are on earth God has a plan for your future. Even if you are old and has no plan for your tomorrow God does have plans for it. And they are good plans. Your future is going to be bright because God planned for it. When He says "I have plans to give you hope and a future." It is more than merely entering into a future but a divinely packaged future. It is a gift. (NIV) It is amazing what God has made us. The Scripture is very clear on the subject of righteousness and holiness in regard to the new creation. The new creation the Bible says was created in Christ Jesus to be like God in true rightousness and holiness. The word 'true righteousness' already suggest there is an untrue righteousness. Untrue righteousness is self righteousness. There are only two righteousness; one by works of the law and the other by faith.  Philippians 3:8-9 What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. (NIV) When a person finds himself in the midst of a predicament he thinks he will never come out of it. As God's anger doesn't last even so weeping doesn't. As God's favour lasts a lifetime even so rejoicing that comes after weeping, and morning after night. There will be a night in one's life. A night of weeping is inevitable, it may come once is a person's life time but it does come. And that time always seems slow but the Bible says that rejoicing always precede it in the morning.  There are some reasons why some people's night time last a long time. And then it seems their rejoicing may never come in the morning. One of the reasons is doing the same thing the same way over a cause of time. If your night must c

I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name. (NIV) God opens a special door in a specific season for a specific reason. One of the reasons God opens a special door for us is when we keep to His word, held on to it and not deny His name in the face of opposition.  When He opens a door oppositions do come against it to shut it. But they always failed. When God opens a door no one and nothing shuts it. No enemy can shut a door which God open for you. The only problem there could be is when you refuse to walk in it or close it by talking or living contrary to God's word. Another thing that happens when God opens a door for you is that many other doors opens as well. Which are actually doors of opportunities. When He opens a door for you then diverse

(NIV) The first thing to recognize in this above scripture is NOW. Faith is for the now. It is for the now situation and circumstance. Faith is for the present; it is active. Your confidence and assurance in the present situation is called faith. But what is the basis of your confidence and assurance? Why are you certain that what you hope for would come?  Faith is not a baseless assumption. It's more than being positive. True faith has basis. Jesus is the basis of our faith. I am confident that I will be healed because Jesus took my sickness and infirmity. I am confident I can be rich because Jesus became poor so that I through His poverty might become rich. In everything we hope for or have faith for our eyes should be fixed on Jesus.  Hebrews 12:2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer

IN THE MIDST OF TRIALS James 1:2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, (NIV) Did you noticed that Apostle James didn't say "TRIAL of many kinds", but "TRIALS of many kinds." It is because trials are a chain of events. It all happens together. It's a season where series of unpleasant circumstances surrounds a Christian.  The Lord Jesus told us in John 16:33, "...In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."  Troubles, persecutions and trials are inevitable but victory is assured over them. Instead of thinking that trials shouldn't come think what to do when it does come. Because it will come. James told us to consider trials as pure joy. And went on to give us the reasons. James 1:3-4 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perse

The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak." (NIV) It is important to watch in the spirit in cause of prayer and one of the ways to watch is listening. While you pray listen from your spirit. If you were seeing a picture in the spirit until you hear a voice giving the explanation of such picture it might not make any sense to you.  Prophet Habakkuk made a remarkable statement. He said he was going to stand at his watch and look to see what God would SAY to him. In his watching he was going to hear, and God actually spoke to him. Habakkuk 2:1-3 I will stand at my watch and station myself on the ramparts; I will look to see what he will say to me, and what answer I am to give to this complaint. And I take no pleasure in the one who shrinks back." (NIV) The righteous one refers in this above verse is the Christian. A Christian is required to live by faith. Living by faith pleases God. He takes pleasure in the one who lives by faith.  Living by faith is living by the truth (God's word). There is nothing that gives God pleasure and joy than to see us walk in the truth. 3 John 1:4 I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth. God's word to us is His dream or vision communicated to us. God cannot live His dream without us. He has a dream but it can only come true by us. Anyone who truly wants to be successful in life would willingly surrender his life to God, the great builder. He is the potter and shaper of great destiny. He once sent a word to the Israelites through Jeremiah the Prophet, in the book of Jeremiah 18:4-6, But the pot he was shaping from the clay was marred in his hands; so the potter formed it into another pot, shaping it as seemed best to him. Then the word of the LORD came to me. He said, "Can I not do with you, Israel, as this potter does?" declares the LORD. "Like clay in the hand of the potter, so are you in my hand, Israel. Every Christian is victorious over the world, satan, his works and demons. But unless a Christian recognize this authority and use it he won't fully enjoy the blessings of the Gospel. The Lord Jesus said "I have given you authority..." If He has given it then we have it. If we have it, that means we shouldn't expect Him to do the things that are within the jurisdiction of our authority. For example Jesus gave us authority to cast our devils in His Name -- Mark 16:17. He would never cast out a devil from heaven. If we don't cast him out then that devil would remain where he is. He gave us auth

(NIV) This scripture simply enumerates the marks of a mature Christian. A mature Christian warns, encourages, helps and is patient with everyone.  It takes maturity to warn those who are idle and disruptive without getting into a fight with them. It takes maturity to encourage the discouraged, to help the weak without breaking them, and it takes maturity to be patient with everyone. The church needs people who can do all these; warn, encourage, help and patience. If most of the church members are at this level and consistently doing these, then we would always warn and correct ourselves, encourage ourselves, help ourselves and be patient with ourselves, and ultimately grow ourselves as one body of Christ. Faith, hope and love. These characterize our Christian walk. And they should always remain in one's life even if everything else leaves. 1 Corinthians 13:13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. Goals-set are actually building blocks to success. No goals no success.  Goals are small visions that make up big vision. If you had a desire to travel to America your first goal wouldn't be to board an airplane but to get a visa. Getting a visa is a step towards your goal, boarding a flight is another step closer.
