BREAKFAST WITH JESUS

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 31st JULY 2024 DON'T BE DISTRACTED BY THEM Psalms 91:7-8 A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked. (NIV) The Bible is so straight forward in what it tells us. Reading the above verse He didn't say there won't be opposition or challenges. He said they will fall by our sides. So we shouldn't be distracted by the opposition and challenges that may come our way. He already told us what would happen to them, and said they won't come near us.  Why would they fall at your sides? Because they are defeated before you. And He says you will see their punishment. The falling is their punishment. So don't let the defeat and falling of your adversary and adversity distract you. Their falling may sound like it is working against you, but it's not true. Don't be distracted by them.  Anot...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 30th JULY 2024 THE RECREATED HUMAN SPIRIT Ephesians 2:10 For we are God's [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live]. (AMP) The scripture above says we were recreated in Christ Jesus. That implies that we were first created, otherwise we wouldn't have been recreated. In Genesis the Bible tells us that God created man, Genesis 1:27 So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. But man sinned and fell short of the glory and purpose of God, hence God had to recreate the human spirit. This time, man was created in Christ Jesus.  Your spirit within you is a brand new one, a type that never existed before. T...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 29th JULY 2024 DECLARED NOT GUILTY Acts 13:38-39 "Therefore, my friends, I want you to know that through Jesus the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you. Through him everyone who believes is set free from every sin, a justification you were not able to obtain under the law of Moses. (NIV) When the scripture says "set free from every sin" it means set free from every accusation of sin. That means declared not guilty; justified. In Christ, you are justified from every accusation of sin. It is as if you were brought before a law court. And your accuser presented his accusations against you saying, you did this and that, you said this and that. But upon thorough investigation the judge declared you not guilty of the charges labeled against you. That's what happened with you in Christ.  Through Jesus Christ you have remission of sins. Through Him you are justified, set free from every sin and declared not guilty. A...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 28th JULY 2024 THE STATE OF A SINNER Ephesians 2:12 remember that at that time you were separate from Christ, excluded from citizenship in Israel and foreigners to the covenants of the promise, without hope and without God in the world. (NIV) Reading this above scripture and seeing the state of a sinner should inspire us to go out and win them for Christ. They are the reason Jesus died. Matthew 9:13 But go and learn what this means: ’I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners." He came to call sinners out of their state of doom.  Apostle Paul speaking to the Ephesian church in Ephesians 2:12, reminded them of the state they were before they received Jesus and got saved. It's a state or condition you shouldn't wish anybody. He said "remember that at that time you were separate from Christ, excluded from citizenship in Israel and foreigners to the covenants of the promise,...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 27th JULY 2024 LOOK AWAY FROM THEM Hebrews 12:2 Looking away [from all that will distract] to Jesus, Who is the Leader and the Source of our faith [giving the first incentive for our belief] and is also its Finisher [bringing it to maturity and perfection]. He, for the joy [of obtaining the prize] that was set before Him, endured the cross, despising and ignoring the shame, and is now seated at the right hand of the throne of God. (AMP) In a world where there are many things that seeks to distract, one has to deliberately keep focus on Jesus. Things that would distract you would come freely, you will have to make conscious effort to look away from them.  Hardship or hard times could be a distraction from what the Lord has laid in your heart to accomplish. Good things and good times could be distraction also. You have to manage what you give attention to. It might seem good but could be distracting. The Bible says "Looking away...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 26th JULY 2024 ALL YOU REQUIRE Numbers 14:8 If the LORD is pleased with us, he will lead us into that land, a land flowing with milk and honey, and will give it to us. (NIV) When the twelve returned whom Moses had sent to explore the land they wanted taken over, ten of them gave Moses and the Israelites a very bad and distressing report.  Read Numbers 13:27-28,31, "They gave Moses this account: "We went into the land to which you sent us, and it does flow with milk and honey! Here is its fruit. But the people who live there are powerful, and the cities are fortified and very large. We even saw descendants of Anak there. But the men who had gone up with him said, "We can’t attack those people; they are stronger than we are." Then Joshua and Caleb who were among the twelve spoke up and pin-pointed all that they required. They said "If the LORD is pleased with us,..."  Numbers 14:6-8 Joshua son of Nun and...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 25th JULY 2024 THE HAPPENING DOESN'T DEFINE YOU Judges 6:12 When the angel of the LORD appeared to Gideon, he said, "The LORD is with you, mighty warrior." (NIV) Don't let the happenings around you define you, if you do you will be subject to them and unable to change them. But define or change the happenings around you by recognizing and applying who you are in Christ.  When the angel of the LORD appeared to Gideon, he said, "The LORD is with you, mighty warrior." Gideon had become so subject the happenings around him and all his experiences. With this he belittle himself. He allowed the happenings to define him. He will understand this from his response to the angel, in Judges 6:13, "Pardon me, my lord," Gideon replied, "but if the LORD is with us, why has all this happened to us? Where are all his wonders that our ancestors told us about when they said, ’Did not the LORD bring us up out...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 24th JULY 2024 AT HOME IN HIM 1 John 5:20 We know also that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true. And we are in him who is true by being in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life. (NIV) This above scripture is so beautiful, inspiring and comforting. What could be more than being in God? These are not mere sayings; the above scripture is not a figure of speech or parable.  The Lord Jesus came to give us understanding of the Kingdom and to reveal the Father to us, that we might know Him. And now the Bible says, "And we are in Him who is true by being in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life."  We are in God and God is in us. It is our present-hour reality. Don't look at your body and ask, 'am I really in God?' It is your spirit that is in God, your body is given you to express your spirit.  Apostle Paul spoke in the sam...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 23rd JULY 2024 A CREATIVE FORCE Genesis 1:3 And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light. (NIV) The spoken Word of God is a creative force. It carries within it the ability to do or create what it says. Everything God created He actually created by speaking forth. They all came to be as He declared. He said let there be light and there was light. His Word created light out of darkness.  2 Corinthians 4:6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. He commanded the light to shine out of darkness. His spoken Word was a command, it was a law. When He spoke everything was subject to that law and conditioned to work in conformity to produce light.  And today He has caused that light to shine in our hearts, and that light has given us the knowledge of the glory of God in the revelation of Jesu...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 22nd JULY 2024 THE PRESENT GLORY Haggai 2:9 ’The glory of this present house will be greater than the glory of the former house,’ says the LORD Almighty. ’And in this place I will grant peace,’ declares the LORD Almighty." (NIV) When the Israelites who returned from exile began to rebuild the temple of God in Jerusalem which had been destroyed by the Babylonians, the word came by Prophet Haggai, in Haggai 2:3, he said ’Who of you is left who saw this house in its former glory? How does it look to you now? Does it not seem to you like nothing?" Then he prophesied, ’The glory of this present house will be greater than the glory of the former house,’ says the LORD Almighty. ’And in this place I will grant peace,’ declares the LORD Almighty." - Haggai 2:9.  First, this prophecy was concerning the temple they were rebuilding at the time. Secondly, for the church that was to come. The glory of our present day church is gre...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 21st JULY 2024 SEE GOD AS A JUDGE Hosea 14:2 Take words with you and return to the LORD. Say to him: "Forgive all our sins and receive us graciously, that we may offer the fruit of our lips. (NIV) Hosea the Prophet gave this prophetic words to the Israelites. He asked them to take words with them and return to the Lord, and it connotes presenting one's case before a judge. Taking words to argue your case. When we pray to God, there is the kind of prayer that we should see God as a judge. Then, we present our case with evidence from the scripture to argue our case why what we demand should be granted us.  The Lord Jesus told a parable to stress the importance of praying and to keep praying until we get what we demand. I would like us to read the entire parable.  Luke 18:1-7 Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up. He said: "In a certain town there was a judge wh...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 20th JULY 2024 THE ROYAL LAW; THE KINGDOM LAW; THE SUPREME LAW James 2:8 If you really keep the royal law found in Scripture, "Love your neighbor as yourself," you are doing right. (NIV) The one law that governs the Kingdom of God is love. The Bible says "Love your neighbor as yourself." This is the Kingdom law and it is the supreme law. Love is all important; loving God and loving people is the way of life. Mark 12:33 To love him with all your heart, with all your understanding and with all your strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself is more important than all burnt offerings and sacrifices." It's interesting to know that loving God with your all and loving your neighbour as you love yourself is more important and rewarding than burnt offerings and sacrifices. In fact the offerings and sacrifices of one doesn't love God and people is detestable to God.  Love is the only debt we owe one ano...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 19th JULY 2024 WALK BY THE SPIRIT Galatians 5:16-17 So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want. (NIV) The highest struggle of a Christian is not against the devil but against the flesh. What do you mean by the flesh? It means the natural craving, desires, thoughts and dictates of the human body.  The human body is the instrument for living in this physical world. You don't have to have a body to be you, but you have to have a body to express you in this world.  The body's default function is by its sense organs; it functions only by what it hears, sees, feels and perceives. Anything outside this is uncomfortable and unnatural to it. It fights it. But the Holy Spirit you have received is everything contrary ...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 18th JULY 2024 SOWING TO PLEASE THE SPIRIT Galatians 6:8 Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. (NIV) Sowing to please the Spirit simply means doing things to please the Spirit, that is, following His leading; doing God's Word.  When one do things to please the flesh; follow mere natural instincts and desires of the flesh it results in death; failure, defeat and damnation. But sowing to please the Spirit is eternal life.  When it says "whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life." It does not mean he will receive eternal life because he already have it. It means he will live in God's presence eternally (hereafter).  When it has to do with sowing by the spirit or spiritually it really has to do with words. Words are seeds. Here, two source of words matters; words from you and w...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 17th JULY 2024 HE GIVES US MORE GRACE James 4:6 But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: "God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble." (NIV) Grace is a supernatural enablement or endowment which gives us the advantage in every situation or circumstance. When we are faced with a tough situation or circumstance God gives us more grace; more supernatural enablement or endowment to give us the advantage in and over that situation. This simply means the tougher things gets for us the greater is our grace.  God may not take away every daulting challenge you face but will always give you the sufficient grace to go through it.  2 Corinthians 12:9 But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. This grace (supernatural enablement) is more visible in ...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 16th JULY 2024 FAITH AND ACTION WORKS TOGETHER James 2:21-22 Was not our father Abraham considered righteous for what he did when he offered his son Isaac on the altar? You see that his faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did. (NIV) True faith is action. Faith is not mere mental assent but a conviction of the spirit that propels to action. Faith is a force which condition your spirit to act in line with the Word.  Abraham's faith was credited to him as righteousness based on what he did not based merely on what he heard assented. If you heard the Word and believe you won't get the results just by that. You will have to act on the Word. It is when the Word you heard become action that you get the reward of faith.  Faith and action works together to produce result. The first working of faith is talking the Word you heard and believed. But that's just the beginning of fai...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 15th JULY 2024 ETERNAL KING; ETERNAL PRIEST Revelation 1:6 And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen. (KJV) The Lord Jesus actually made us kings and priests unto God and His Father. And we are because He is our head. We are the reflection and expression of who He is. And that includes being King and Priest.  Jesus is an eternal King-Priest in the order of Melchizedek. And we are in the order of Jesus.   Hebrews 7:1,3,17,24 This Melchizedek was king of Salem and priest of God Most High. He met Abraham returning from the defeat of the kings and blessed him, ...Without father or mother, without genealogy, without beginning of days or end of life, resembling the Son of God, he remains a priest forever. For it is declared: "You are a priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek." but because Jesus lives forever, he has a permanent priesthood. Jesus is a...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 14th JULY 2024 BE SERIOUS, INTENTIONAL AND CONSISTENT 1 Corinthians 9:24-25 Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. (NIV) If you will win in life you must apply this above scripture. When athletes compete it is only one person who comes out the winner. For anyone to win he must go into strict training. In your dealings in life you must be strict; serious, intentional and consistent. First, with the Gospel. Your attitude towards the propagation of the Gospel matters a lot. It is not enough to be interested or even have the desire to further the Gospel, you must also be serious, intentional and consistent about it.   1 Corinthians 9:24 Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, bu...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 13th JULY 2024 DON'T BE SUBJECT TO EVIL RULES Colossians 2:22 These rules, which have to do with things that are all destined to perish with use, are based on merely human commands and teachings. (NIV) There are people who believe that if you wash your hands with warm water money would no longer stay in your hands. Among tribes, ethnics and people you would find many human rules, commands and teachings that sounds true but are not at all. Don't be subject to such rules. The Bible says "They are based on merely human commands and teachings." Don't live your life in subjection to the rules and rudiments of men. They may appear to be true or wise but they makes one slave and unproductive. Don't find yourself running your life under the teachings or principles lay down by mere men; they are actually evil rules.  Such rules and regulations may have appearance of wisdom. But it's not. Colossians 2:23 Such re...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 12th JULY 2024 CREDITED TO YOUR ACCOUNT Philippians 4:17 Not that I desire your gifts; what I desire is that more be credited to your account. (NIV) The Apostle Paul said to the church at Philipi, "not that I desire your gifts; what I desire is that more be credited to your account." Their givings were being credited to their heavenly accounts. Each one of them had an account in heaven. And we too have.  When the topic of supporting the cause of the Gospel financially and materially comes up some tends to be uncomfortable and uninterested but it is for our advantage individually. That's why Paul said to the Brethren "not that I desire your gifts; what I desire is that more be credited to your account." In other words he meant "it's not about me, it is about depositing funds into your heavenly account so that you don't get broke when you get there." Matthew 6:19-21 "Do not store up for ...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 11th JULY 2024 PUT IT INTO PRACTICE Philippians 4:9 Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me —put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you. (NIV) Apostle Paul writing to the church in Philipi made it clear to them that they had to put the Word of God they had learned or received or heard from him, or seen in him into practice. The only way they could have the Word produce result for them and also give them peace was by practicing it.  Merely hearing the Word won't change anything but doing it would.  James 1:22 Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. How do we practice the Word? First, it is by keeping the Word in our heart and in our consciousness. Secondly, by talking it to yourself and those around you. Let people hear the Word you believe in your mouth.  James 1:25 But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, a...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 10th JULY 2024 EVERYTHING UNDER HIS CONTROL Philippians 3:21 who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body. (NIV) The Lord Jesus has brought everything under His control. Everything in heavens, on earth and beneath the earth are under the control of the Lord Jesus Christ.  Someone might say, 'how about all the evils that are happening on earth, is Jesus in control of them?' Not a bad question. Let's look at the scriptures. Ephesians 1:22-23 And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way. The church is the fullness of Christ; that is, His completeness. Jesus is not complete without His body, the church. He rules the earth and in the earth through the church. Revelation 5:10 And hast made us un...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 9th JULY 2024 THE SAME MISSION WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT John 15:26-27 "When the Advocate comes, whom I will send to you from the Father —the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father —he will testify about me. And you also must testify, for you have been with me from the beginning. (NIV) Even though we go about our business, job and other pursuit, our mission on earth is well spelt out in the scriptures. And it is the same mission that the Holy Spirit has on earth. The Lord Jesus said of the Holy Spirit "He will testify about me." And of us He said "And you also must testify, for you have been with me from the beginning." We have the same mission with the Holy Spirit to testify about Jesus. Our mission is to testify about His life, death, burial and resurrection, and what it means to man. Through the witness of this, we are to bring men out of darkness into light, turn them from the power of satan unto God. ...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 8th JULY 2024 THE BLESSING IS IN DOING John 13:17 Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them. (NIV) The Bible is full of the blessings God has for us, and the New testament especially is full of the glory and blessings that has been given us on account of Christ and all He has done for us. But not many Christians enjoy these blessings.  Read for example Ephesians 1:3, it says "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ." Yet not many enjoy these blessings in full. Our theme scripture says "Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them." -- John 13:17. The blessing is in doing the Word. Hearing the Word brings you faith but doing it brings you the blessings. When you hear the Word it doesn't automatically bring you the blessings in the physical world even though it is r...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 7th JULY 2024 INVEST IN THE FUTURE Ecclesiastes 11:1-2 Ship your grain across the sea; after many days you may receive a return. Invest in seven ventures, yes, in eight; you do not know what disaster may come upon the land. (NIV) Your today was a future yesterday. How it is today is the result of your investment yesterday. How your tomorrow (future) will turn out to be depends heavily on your investment today. Invest into your future.  Whether or not you invest in your future it would come, but would come empty. As long as the earth remains the law of sowing and reaping will always apply.  The Bible says in Ecclesiastes 11:1-2, "Ship your grain across the sea; after many days you may receive a return. Invest in seven ventures, yes, in eight; you do not know what disaster may come upon the land." It says "ship your grain", but many people eat their grain instead. If you ate your seed you actually ate from your fu...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 6th JULY 2024 FOCUS ON IMPROVING YOURSELF 1 Thessalonians 4:11 and to make it your ambition to lead a quiet life: You should mind your own business and work with your hands, just as we told you, (NIV) The Bible says to mind your own business. There are those who wouldn't mind only the things that concerns them. They have trained themselves to interfere in matters that doesn't concern them. A Christian should lead a quiet and peaceful life. The Bible used the word "lead" a quiet life. In other words, live a life that others can emulate.  Instead of being so concerned about other people's life how they are failing or succeeding why not focus on own life and on ways to improve yourself in order to be successful at the level you are at? Your life is your own business. Nobody is going to run it for you. And you can't run someone's else life for them either. The best way to make an impact in other people...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 5th JULY 2024 YOUR DREAM IS NOT GONE Exodus 2:11-12 One day, after Moses had grown up, he went out to where his own people were and watched them at their hard labor. He saw an Egyptian beating a Hebrew, one of his own people. Looking this way and that and seeing no one, he killed the Egyptian and hid him in the sand. (NIV) When you discover that your heart yearn for a good course; a dream to fulfil, be sure it is God who puts it in your heart.  Moses had a dream in his heart to save the Israelites out of their hardship and bondage in Egypt. It was his dream to see them free. But he didn't know exactly how to go about it. One day he saw an Egyptian beating an Israelite under a hard labour, he killed the Egyptian and buried him. When the news became public he ran away from Egypt at the age of 40.  He ran away from Pharaoh who wanted to kill him and went to Midian where he settled, got married and became a shepherd. BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 4th JULY 2024 GLORIOUS AND UNSEARCHABLE THINGS Jeremiah 33:3 ’Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.’ (NIV) At times people get stuck trying to get ideas for what they intend to do. Maybe idea on how to go about a business and they just don't know what to do.  A Christian shouldn't find himself in such a position where he doesn't know what to do. All he should do is call. God says "call to me..." It is God who invites you to call Him and promise to tell you great and unsearchable things that you do not know. The great in our theme verse also means lofty, high or glorious. And the unsearchable things means uncommon, hidden, set aside things that you do not know. There are glorious and uncommon; set aside ideas you require to fulfill your destiny, to run your business, to be blessed and prosperous in life. And only God can tell you.  He says "call to me ...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 3rd JULY 2024 IN ORDER OF THE LAST ADAM 2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! (NIV) It's important to understand that the Christian is not an extension of the first Adam. He really has no connection with him. The Christian began after the first man had been Judged and executed. They didn't even cross paths.  The Bible tells us there is the first Adam and the last or second Adam.  1 Corinthians 15:45-48 So it is written: "The first man Adam became a living being"; the last Adam, a life-giving spirit. The spiritual did not come first, but the natural, and after that the spiritual. The first man was of the dust of the earth; the second man is of heaven. As was the earthly man, so are those who are of the earth; and as is the heavenly man, so also are those who are of heaven. Jesus is the second and last Adam. He is the heavenly man and we a...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 2nd JULY 2024 THE PURPOSE OF THE SCRIPTURES John 5:46 If you believed Moses, you would believe me, for he wrote about me. (NIV) The Lord Jesus made the above statement referring to the law of Moses. He said if you believe the law you would believe me the law wrote about me. Think about that for a moment! When the law said "thou shall not steal." it was a description of Jesus who cannot steal. When it said "thou shall not murder." it was a description of the righteous One who cannot murder. The law wrote about the righteousness of God, Jesus Christ.  John 1:45 Philip found Nathanael and told him, "We have found the one Moses wrote about in the Law, and about whom the prophets also wrote —Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph." The law and even the books of the Prophets were about Jesus. They wrote about His Person and Purpose. But what exactly is the purpose of the scriptures, their writings? John 5:39-4...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 1st JULY 2024 IT IS ABOUT ETERNAL LIFE John 3:14-15 Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, that everyone who believes may have eternal life in him." (NIV) When the Israelites grumbled against God and Moses in the wilderness God sent a venomous snake which bit and killed some of them. When they confessed their sins to God before Moses and repented, God told Moses to make a bronze snake and hang it on a pole that whoever got bitten by a snake and look at the bronze snake would live. Numbers 21:9 So Moses made a bronze snake and put it up on a pole. Then when anyone was bitten by a snake and looked at the bronze snake, they lived. The Bible likens this to Jesus being hung on the cross. John 3:14-15 Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, that everyone who believes may have eternal life in him." Man had been bitten by his own ...
