BREAKFAST WITH JESUS

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 31st JANUARY 2025 DEVOTE YOURSELF TO PRAYER Colossians 4:2 Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. (NIV) No one prays indeliberately. Apostle Paul says to the Christians in Colosae "devote yourselves to prayer." And the Spirit of God says the same to us today, "devote yourselves to prayer." Prayer is a deliberate act. But don't pray as a duty but as a delight. Don't deliberately pray because you feel is a duty your must fulfill but pray because it is a delight you should enjoy. Give yourself to prayer, be watchful and thankful. One of things that makes you find pleasure in praying is thankfulness. When you are full of thanks for all the Lord has done for you your heart will throb with joy not only about what you are thankful for but with faith for what you are hoping for. When you find pleasure to pray it takes away the pressure to pray. For some prayer is pressure (burden). Don't b...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 30th JANUARY 2025 RENEWED IN KNOWLEDGE Colossians 3:9-10 Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator. (NIV) This above scripture clearly states that the Christian has taken off his old self with its practices and have put on the new self. This new self is in the image of its Creator but has to be renewed in knowledge to function accordingly. Even though everyone who is born again is exactly like God his Father everyone doesn't live in that reality. Even though your spirit is a brand new one because you are born again your mind is the same. Your mind has to be renewed in the knowledge of who you are by your spirit. Your mind doesn't know that you are born again or a child of God unless you inform its through the Word.  Only a Christian who has a renewed mind can fulfill God's calling upon ...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 26th JANUARY 2025 GOD'S HOLY PEOPLE Ephesians 1:1 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, To God’s holy people in Ephesus, the faithful in Christ Jesus: (NIV) Apostle Paul writing a letter to the Church at Ephesus addressed them as God's holy people. He called them holy people. In our day we find those who say that no one is holy but God. Yes there is only one holiness. Holiness is not good behavior, good character, truthfulness, faithfulness or sinlessness. God is the only holy One, and He lives in us making us holy as He is holy. Where the Holy God is, is holy. Whatever He takes (person or thing) to become His own is set apart, consecrated unto Him as holy. The utensils used in the tabernacle in the old testament were pronounced holy. People define holiness very differently from what the Bible teaches. The Church is holy and full of holy people. Everyone who is born again is set apart, consecrated unto God in...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 25th JANUARY 2025 ALL THINGS FROM HIM AND FOR HIM 1 Corinthians 8:6 yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live. (NIV) At times we live as though we created anything. There are people who even live as though they created themselves. All through the Scriptures we see that no one contributed anything to creation or existence. Every thing that exist had been. We all found everything already in place. Though we have succeeded in creating things from the things already created by God, yet the ultimate glory has to go to God. Satan didn't create a thing, he himself is a creature. God created him as one of the angels but then he rebelled against God, and was thrown out of his place. Our theme scripture states it beautifully, 1 Corinthians 8:6 yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from w...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 24th JANUARY 2025 LEARN TO TRADE WORDS Matthew 15:22,24 A Canaanite woman from that vicinity came to him, crying out, "Lord, Son of David, have mercy on me! My daughter is demon-possessed and suffering terribly." He answered, "I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel." (NIV) Most of the time what you qualify for may not be given you unless you demand for it. And other times what you are not qualified for can be given you when you trade your words rightly. That was the case of the Canaanite woman who came to Jesus. She begged Jesus to heal her demon-possessed daughter. But Jesus said He was not sent to the Canaanites. In other words that she wasn't qualified for what she asked for. Let's read her dialogue with Jesus. She traded words with Jesus, and she traded rightly. Matthew 15:25-27 The woman came and knelt before him. "Lord, help me!" she said. He replied, "It is not right to take th...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 23rd JANUARY 2025 THROUGH WHOM WE LIVE 1 Corinthians 8:6 yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live. (NIV) The term "through whom we live" is not a medium. It doesn't mean that Jesus is the medium through whom we live. He is not a medium. It means by whom we live. We live by who He is, how He is, where He is, what He can and what He has. We live in His Person or in His instead. That's what it means. It's incredible that we live in the Person of the Lord Jesus; we live in His stead and in His place by living in His Name. John 20:31 But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name. Now you have life in His Name. You are living His life in His stead. You are living for Him. The life ...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 22nd JANUARY 2025 THE CITY OF GOD Hebrews 12:22 But you have come to Mount Zion, to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem. You have come to thousands upon thousands of angels in joyful assembly, (NIV) In the Bible Zion refers to the city or people of God. In the days of Moses the people of God often gathered before the Lord at the foot of a mountain. The gathering of God's people in the new testament is mount Zion whether or not there is a mountain. Referring to the new testament believers the Bible says "you have come to Mount Zion, the City of the living God." The mountain referred in our theme scripture is the church, and the same is the city of the living God. The church on earth is a branch of the heavenly city of the living God. And someday soon we shall go up to that city in heaven. And beautifully at the renewal of all things that city shall be brought down to the new earth and we shall inhabit it...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 21st JANUARY 2025 AN ETERNAL DOMICILE Acts 17:28 ’For in him we live and move and have our being.’ As some of your own poets have said, ’We are his offspring.’ (NIV) The Word declares that in God we live and move and have our being. If anyone was in doubt whether it actually referred to God then the later part of that verse put any doubt to rest. It says "We are his offspring." Indeed we are God's offspring; He gave birth to us. In Him we live, move and have our being (our existence and sustainability). That's a domicile. A domicile is a permanent dwelling. God is our permanent and eternal dwelling. You may wonder how that is. It is by your spirit. Your spirit lives in God, and when you are consistently conscious of this, it affects your physical body and environment, such that your physical body literally lives in God and your physical environment carries God's atmosphere. This is true. Everyone who is born a...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 20th JANUARY 2025 AN IRREVERSIBLE VICTORY Acts 2:24 But God raised him from the dead, freeing him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him. (NIV) The victory the Lord Jesus earned and gave us is based on His resurrection. It was His victorious resurrection from the dead that sealed our victory. If He had not risen there would be no victory. And because death was powerless (not possible for it) to keep Him in the realm of the dead He is forever victorious over death, and so are we! It is an irreversible victory. Let us read Romans 6:9-11 "For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him. The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God. In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus." In the same way we are dead to sin once for all time, we cannot...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 19th JANUARY 2025 WORK THE WORD John 8:31-32 To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, "If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." (NIV) The truth sets free those who know it not those who heard it. There is a huge difference. Someone may hear something but do not know or understand it. The truth produce results for those who know what it is. You have to know what truth is for it to work for you.  The Word of God is the truth of God. The truth of God is the reality or state of things before God. When the Word comes to you, it tells you the reality of what it communicates to you. And if that reality is not your experience you have the responsibility to work the word to become your experience.  The Word declares that we are blessed with every spiritual blessing (every good thing you can think of). Ephesians 1:3 Praise be to the God and Father ...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 18th JANUARY 2025 HE LIFTS YOU EVEN IN THEIR MIDST Psalms 3:2-3 Many are saying of me, "God will not deliver him." But you, LORD, are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head high. (NIV) We see in the Scriptures how God lifted people to glory even in the midst of their adversaries. Joseph and Daniel are two perfect examples.  Joseph was sold into slavery in Egypt by his brothers, and God lifted him to become the Prime Minister of Egypt. Read Genesis chapter 37 and 41. Daniel's colleagues in the service of the king conspired against him and have him thrown into the den of lions. But God delivered him and lifted him to a higher place. (See Daniel 6) And the Bible says "So Daniel prospered during the reign of Darius and the reign of Cyrus the Persian." -- Daniel 6:28. God specialized in lifting people to a higher level even in the midst of their enemies. It doesn't matter who is against you, ...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 17th JANUARY 2025 ACKNOWLEDGE THE TROUBLE, ACKNOWLEDGE THE SOLUTION Psalms 34:19 The righteous person may have many troubles, but the LORD delivers him from them all; (NIV) The Bible never said we will not have troubles as the righteousness of God. No! Some Christians behave as though it's strange when trouble comes to them. Reading our opening verse alone says otherwise. Some of the things some Christians believe, confess and live by are not scriptural. Trouble for a Christian is scriptural, victory and solution over that trouble is also scriptural; they are both in the Word of God. Denying the existence of a problem is not faith. Denying the facts of challenges is not scriptural. To say the righteous person or a Christian will not have trouble is not true. Facing your facts with God's truths is the solution. Acknowledge the problem, then acknowledge the solution in the Word. There is solution for every problem but until y...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 16th JANUARY 2025 WE ARE NOW 1 John 3:2 Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. (NIV) The Bible declares that now we are children of God. We are now! We are children of the Most High God. What exactly does it mean to be a son of God? Son of God means three things. First, God in a human body or flesh. God lived in the fleshly body of Jesus.  John 14:10 Don’t you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me? The words I say to you I do not speak on my own authority. Rather, it is the Father, living in me, who is doing his work.  And God lives in anyone who acknowledge that Jesus is the Son of God.  1 John 4:15 If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in them and they in God. You are son of God, God lives in your physical body.  The secon...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 15th JANUARY 2025 TRAMPLE UPON THEM Luke 10:19 I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you. (NIV) The Lord has given each and every one of us the authority (legal right) and power to trample upon satan and his works. We have the legal right to destroy the devil's work using the Name of Jesus.  The Lord Jesus didn't say He will trample the devil or works for us. He said He has given us the power to do so, and that satan's power cannot harm us. We shouldn't sit around and watch satan run our lives, families, cities and nations. Your first reaction when you find satan oppressing people or running a city should be provocation. Be spiritually provoked against satan and His works; express holy anger against oppression, injustice, evil, sickness and the manipulation of darkness. That's the first step to working in God's power agains...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 14th JANUARY 2025 THE GOOD LIFE; PROSPERITY AND HEALTH 3 John 1:2 Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. (KJV) The central point of the good life God has called us into is prosperity and good health. God desires these two for us. If you are prosperous but unhealthy you can't enjoy your prosperity. And if you are healthy but unprosperous and poor you can't enjoy your health. A complete good life is prosperity and good health. That's what God declared for you through John the Apostle. 3 John 1:2 Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. Prosperity and good health is not only a good life God prearranged for you but also a requirement to fulfilling God's purpose for your life. If you are sick you can't do what the Lord wants you to do, if you are poor you can't afford to fulfill your d...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 13th JANUARY 2025 TAKE YOUR DESTINY IN YOUR HANDS 1 Samuel 10:6-7 The Spirit of the LORD will come powerfully upon you, and you will prophesy with them; and you will be changed into a different person. Once these signs are fulfilled, do whatever your hand finds to do, for God is with you. (NIV) Prophet Samuel said the above words to Saul. He said to him "...As you approach the town, you will meet a procession of prophets coming down from the high place with lyres, timbrels, pipes and harps being played before them, and they will be prophesying. The Spirit of the LORD will come powerfully upon you, and you will prophesy with them; and you will be changed into a different person. Once these signs are fulfilled, do whatever your hand finds to do, for God is with you." -- 1 Samuel 10:5-7. And it happened exactly so. He met group of Prophets prophesying and he prophesied with them. What I want you to note is that he said ...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 12th JANUARY 2025 RIGHTEOUSNESS EXALTS Proverbs 14:34 Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin condemns any people. (NIV) There are two dimensions of righteousness; the nature of righteousness and the fruits or deeds of righteousness. And both exalts. Righteousness as a nature exalts. The fruits of righteousness exalts as well. There is absolutely nothing in all the earth which exalts or promotes like righteousness. Our opening scripture says "righteousness exalts a nation." If righteousness could exalt or promote a whole nation think about what righteousness could do to an individual. And yet the righteousness our opening scripture refers is righteous deeds (fruits of righteousness), and the impact of the nature of righteousness is far greater. If a nation would do right (right deeds and justice) they would be exalted and promoted even if they do not have God's nature of righteousness. Then think about a person or peop...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 11th JANUARY 2025 THE PLANTING OF THE LORD Isaiah 61:3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified. (KJV) The Bible calls us trees of righteousness, and that we are the planting of the Lord. That tells us that righteousness is not of ourselves but of the Lord. No tree ever planted itself. We are trees of righteousness and it is God who planted us.  Note in the verse below that righteousness is the topic of discussion and that Christ is the righteousness that came down from heaven. Let us read. Romans 10:6-7 But the righteousness that is by faith says: "Do not say in your heart, ’Who will ascend into heaven?’" (that is, to bring Christ down) "or ’Who will descend into the deep?’" (that is, to bring Ch...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 10th JANUARY 2025 WALK IN THE LIGHT 1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin. (NIV) The light referred in the above verse is reality. Simply put if we walk in the reality as He is in the reality. What is reality with God? It means how things are before God. As new creatures we don't live or walk by our physical senses; we walk in His reality. What is God's reality concerning your health? How is your health before God? He sees you perpetually healthy. If we walk in the light of God's reality; if we relate based on how things are before Him everything contrary to light or good will disappear. We struggle when we don't walk in the light of God. If we walk in His light darkness will be defeated, darkness doesn't fight or resist light. When light is on darkness leaves. Instead of complaining about the ...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 9th JANUARY 2025 A NEW PROJECT Isaiah 43:19 See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. (NIV) There are two main reasons God starts a new project in a person's life; if a person couldn't walk in what He is doing and it failed or when He decided to do a greater thing in a person's life.  If you failed in the assignment God has given you, don't dispair, He can start a new project. If you are accomplishing the assignment He gave you, then get ready for a greater project. God is about to begin a new project in your life.  Remember we are His instruments or vessels used for His great work. He is the doer but it's done through us. In Isaiah 43:19 He says "See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland." He didn't say see ...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 8th JANUARY 2025 TIME FACTOR Ecclesiastes 9:11 I have seen something else under the sun: The race is not to the swift or the battle to the strong, nor does food come to the wise or wealth to the brilliant or favor to the learned; but time and chance happen to them all. (NIV) What the Bible says in essence in this above scripture is that success is not down to effort only but time and chance too. In other words there is a time factor to success, and interestingly time factor also applies to failure.  Success and failure has time factor. You can't deem someone a success or failure until you have given them time to succeed or fail. Afford yourself some time --- keep working. Before you draw a conclusion on your pursuit, before you say you can't, apply time factor. How long have you been at it? Don't use people's definition of time to run your life or you would ruin your life. Don't let anyone tell you that you are ...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 7th JANUARY 2025 ENERGY IN HIS WORDS Matthew 9:6-7 But I want you to know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins." So he said to the paralyzed man, "Get up, take your mat and go home." Then the man got up and went home. (NIV) Jesus not only had authority to forgive sins when He walked the earth but also to heal and set free. He said to a paralyzed man "Get up, take your mat and go home." The man who had not walked for years go up, took his mat and walked home. There was energy in the words of Jesus that made the man's body to be strong. It was His words that energized his weak bones and muscles. On another occasion Jesus did something similar with a man who had been an invalid for thirty-eight years. He said to him "Get up! Pick up your mat and walk." John 5:5-9 One who was there had been an invalid for thirty-eight years. When Jesus saw him lying there and learned that he ...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 6th JANUARY 2025 THE GODMAN Matthew 8:26-27 He replied, "You of little faith, why are you so afraid?" Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm. The men were amazed and asked, "What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey him!" (NIV) The Lord Jesus did so many amazing things that baffled the people of His day. One time He was on a boat with His disciples crossing over to the other side of the lake when suddenly a great storm came against the boat. They were all terrified and woke Him up. Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm. Matthew 8:27 The men were amazed and asked, "What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey him!" They asked, what kind of man is this? In other words, what type of man is this? But Jesus didn't give them an answer. But we got it later through the revelation of the Holy Sp...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 5th JANUARY 2025 WE ARE GOING TO THE OTHER SIDE Matthew 8:18,23-24 When Jesus saw the crowd around him, he gave orders to cross to the other side of the lake. Then he got into the boat and his disciples followed him. Suddenly a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. (NIV) When we come into a new year it's like going to the other side, going over to new things and we make resolutions, we set new goals and objectives. But most often we meet crisis or opposition factors.  Jesus told His disciples that they were going to the other side of the lake but they were met with a great opposition; a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. He knew they would get to the other side. When the storm was too much His disciples went and woke Him up. Matthew 8:25-26 The disciples went and woke him, saying, "Lord, save us! We’re...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 4th JANUARY 2025 PARTY IN HEAVEN Revelation 19:7-8 Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready. Fine linen, bright and clean, was given her to wear." (Fine linen stands for the righteous acts of God’s holy people.) (NIV) When the word "party" is mentioned some people get startled and think immediately of sin and evil, as if every party is an evil gathering. Party simply means feast. A feast is the gathering together of people to eat and drink in celebration of good. Jesus attended a wedding feast or you can call it wedding party or reception. John 2:1-2 On the third day a wedding took place at Cana in Galilee. Jesus’ mother was there, and Jesus and his disciples had also been invited to the wedding. The Bible talks about the wedding of the Lamb Jesus and His church. And that after the wedding there will be reception, party or feast. Any of ...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 3rd JANUARY 2025 (Happy New Year) IT'S ABOUT THE NATURE Matthew 7:15-17 "Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. (NIV) A good tree bears good fruit but a bad tree bears bad fruit. It's not about a desire but a nature. There are people who come in sheep's clothing, pretending or trying to be good but at the end they still express their evil nature. A nature could be hidden but not for long; it can't be denied its expression.  When you find people who express bad or wicked character don't think for a moment that they can change, nor believe them when they say they have changed, no! Unless you prove them through the Word of God. Only the Word changes a person. Until a...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 2nd JANUARY 2025 (Happy New Year) GOD IS YOUR SOURCE Psalms 121:1-2 I lift up my eyes to the mountains — where does my help come from? My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth. (NIV) God is your source because He owns you. He created you for His own purpose, and has made adequate preparation for you. He planned where you would live, what you would do, what you would have and how you would live.  He is the source of your life and the source of all that you will ever require in life. But not many people see it this way. They always try to force God to do something for them or be responsible for them. God is already responsible for you, you don't have to force Him or remind Him. Only acknowledge that He is your source and find out how to live in His provision.  The Psalmist acknowledged where His help came from. And everyone of us should. He said in Psalms 121:2 "My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of hea...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 1st JANUARY 2025 (Happy New Year) LAY ASIDE EVERY WEIGHT Hebrews 12:1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, (KJV) Every new year is like an unploughed land which you must plough and sow the kind of seeds you want. It's important that you don't give yourself the burden of sowing needless seeds.  Every new year is also like going into a marathon race where focus and patience are of high importance.  Whether looking at the year like sowing in a new land or running a marathon race laying aside every unnecessary weight is paramount to our final outcome. You find people who planned out what and what they would be about in the course of the year but as they journey they deviate from their original course unto unnecessary weight. This the Bible says lay as...
